Project Pride at Lourdes Academy in Oshkosh

    All day
    April 16, 2018

PROJECT PRIDE is a leadership project being conducted by a group of high school students at Lourdes Academy as part of a leadership class called “Tomorrow’s Leaders.” Project Pride involves transforming 544 lockers in the school from gray to bright RED to match school colors as a showing of spirit and pride. The painting will be done professionally; however, Tomorrow’s Leaders will use their leadership skills to raise the money to fund the project by presenting the project to local business owners, individuals or organizations who have an interest in supporting and investing in young adults as they learn how to become effective leaders. In addition, the students will roll up their sleeves this summer to prep the lockers for painting by washing and sanding them. Attorney Julie Maslowski, who is teaching the class and steering the project explains “It is my hope that PROJECT PRIDE will teach the kids how to come up with an idea, develop a plan, and implement the detailed tasks necessary to see a project through from inception to completion. Moreover, it will require the kids to confidently and clearly communicate their project to professional people in a formal business or boardroom setting. Beyond that, it is my greatest hope that PROJECT PRIDE will allow the kids to experience the “ripple effect” of positive and effective leadership. If you are interested in supporting this project, please contact Attorney Maslowski at jmm@ymlawoshkosh.com or 920.651.1820.

The Foundation for Ripon Medical Center to host Cheese & Wine

    18:00 -21:00
    April 19, 2018
835 Parkside St, Ripon, WI 54971, USA

The Foundation for Ripon Medical Center is hosting its first annual Cheese & Wine event on Thursday, April 19 at Ripon Medical Center, 845 Parkside Street, in the hospital’s atrium.

The event begins at 6 p.m., and features wine from Vines & Rushes Winery, beer from Knuth Brewing Company, local cheese & chocolates, a bountiful hors d’oeuvre buffet, live music and silent auction. Dress is business casual. Tickets are $40 per person.

Proceeds for this fund-raiser will benefit the automated external defibrillator (AED) fund, as the foundation works to keep these lifesaving devices readily available throughout our community. An AED is a portable device that is used in cardiac arrest emergencies to deliver safe and vital electric shocks to the heart in an effort to re-establish the heart rhythm. AEDs are a crucial link following a cardiac episode, because the sooner a device is used, the less damage is done to heart muscle.

“Sudden cardiac arrest is one of the leading causes of death in our country,” says Holly Brenner, The Foundation for Ripon Medical Center executive director.  “We are proud to offer the tools needed to bring immediate assistance, helping to reduce damage to the heart.”

Sponsors (as of March 26) include: Century 21 Properties Unlimited, Hillside Dental Associates, J.F. Ahern Co., Oberreich Foundation, and Shea Electric & Communications, LLC.

For more information on sponsorship opportunities or for tickets to attend, visit agnesian.com/cheesewine or call (920) 926-4959
