COZY UP WITH LIBRARY PROGRAMS
Ripon, WI – The Ripon Public Library is pleased to offer a fresh slate of programming. Keep reading to discover all that March has to offer for all ages! Thanks to the Friends of the Library, and other generous partners, programming is always free, and registration is not required unless noted.
MON | MAR 3 | 6 PM | Empowered Living: A Smart Choices Series –Tracy Gibson: Estate Planning | ADULTS
Learn the language and tools used in estate planning so you can make the best decisions for yourself.
Empower yourself with the information you need to make the best decisions for your life! This series will assist adults with strategic planning and thoughtful decision making in some of life’s most important areas.
Sat | MARCH 8 | 10:00-11:30 AM | LOVE YOUR LEPRECHAUN CRAFT SPECTACULAR | KIDS & FAMILIES
Experience three delightful St. Patrick’s Day themed stations featuring engaging paper and popsicle stick crafts, along with dot painting. Each craft stands out as a fun project in its own right. BONUS: Complete all three crafts and merge them into a unified piece of art! Here’s how: start by dot painting a vibrant rainbow canvas. While the paint dries, craft a unique Pot of Golden Kindness from paper and build a popsicle stick leprechaun. Finally, attach both the Pot of Golden Kindness and the leprechaun to the rainbow canvas, creating a charming St. Patrick’s Day scene.
Paint will be involved, so please dress appropriately. Child-sized paint smocks are available.

Are you curious about knitting but not sure where to begin or what tools you need? Look no further. This finger knitting event makes it simpler than ever! Join us to learn some basic knitting stitches using only your fingers plus yarn. This quick style of knitting will have you creating scarves, jewelry and more in no time. We hope you’ll join us for this lovely morning of all supplies provided knitting and creating! Yarn is supplied but feel free to bring your own favorite stranded fiber too.
SAT | MAR 8 | 1-3 PM | GENEALOGY 101 | ADULTS
Ever wonder about your family history? Who was your grandmother’s grandfather? What did he do for a living? When did my family come to America? Who is that man wearing a military uniform in the photo I found in the old trunk in the attic and how am I related? What part did my relatives possibly play in historical events? These questions are some of the pieces of the large puzzle called genealogy. As with any puzzle, the pieces can be put together in any order, but putting some pieces together first makes the whole puzzle easier to complete.
Beginning in March, a three-part genealogy program to help participants learn the steps of discovering their own family trees will take place at the Ripon Public Library, led by Lara Grant, the Ripon Historical Society’s genealogist. In part one, participants will learn where to start your family history journey, through what could be found at home, and what can be found elsewhere, the types of sources, and how to organize your findings. Resources available at the Ripon Public Library and the Ripon Historical Society will be the focus of the second part in April and a more detailed look at online sources will be discussed in part three in May.

WEDS | MAR 12 – APR 30 | 10 AM | BABY BOUNCE | A GROUP FITNESS TIME FOR CAREGIVERS, THEIR BABIES & PRESCHOOLERS!
Callista Wesner, M.S. Exercise Science, hosts fun, friendly fitness sessions to combat the winter blahs! A variety of adult/child sizes, ages and abilities will be supported with a range of options and instruction. Keep the good energy going! Resource cards outlining each workout plus a QR code to a YouTube video are also provided.
Participants can expect to be active for about 20 minutes through each week’s unique content. The goal is to involve children safely in the action as long as they remain interested. If children need a break from the fitness session library staff will engage them in activities in the Romper Room allowing adults to continue. Stick around afterward for a healthy snack, camaraderie, and STAY & PLAY in the Romper Room!
All participants, adults and children, must have a liability waiver completed in advance. Waivers are available for pick up at the library or via the library website. After Baby Bounce all are welcome to STAY & PLAY in the Romper Room.

Always wanted to delve into the iconic D&D role-playing game but found it daunting? Local Dungeon Masters guide players through one-shot adventures. Beginners welcome! No registration necessary.

THU | MAR 13 | 6-7:30 PM | CRAFT CLUB: String Pull Pour Painting | AGES 10+
Pour painting is delightful but if you’re aiming to create specific designs incorporating string is key. This class covers fundamental techniques for crafting unique designs using string and acrylic paints on canvas.
All materials including canvases, paint, and string are provided.
Please register in advance to ensure we have enough supplies for everyone!

- Come play in the Romper Room. Physical activity and human connections are important for healthy, happy human beings, and the Romper Room facilitates both! Focusing on active play, the room features trikes, foot-to-floor vehicles, a balance bike, tunnels, tumbling mats, balance beams, and more. The Romper Room, which is open during regular library hours, is most engaging for ages 2-6 years, though younger/older kids are welcome.
- Enjoy the always-available board games, toy library, and activity sheets located in the youth department.
- Visit the community table where there is always a puzzle in progress! Stay for a bit and place a few pieces or settle in for a longer session.
