Ripon, WI- Ripon Public Library is excited to announce its August lineup of events and offerings for all ages! Thanks to the Friends of the Library, and other generous donors, programming is always free.
CONTINUING ENGAGEMENT FOR EVERYONE!
COMMUNITY READING CHALLENGE
Every time you check out reading materials get a sticker to put on the goal poster. Once the poster is complete, the Friends of the Ripon Public Library will contribute $500 toward development of onsite libraries at the Ripon Children’s Learning Center, Ripon Boys & Girls Club, and the Ripon Senior Activity Center.
READ FOR CHAMBER BUCKS
Whether you read a little or a lot, you can win prizes! See staff to register, then each time you check out reading material staff log your participation. Children without library cards may be registered on a caregiver’s account. Challenge runs 6/1/23-8/31/23. The goal is to check out reading materials 3 of 4 weeks each month. Participants who reach GOAL are automatically entered into prize drawings for $10 Chamber certificates. Fifteen winners per month!
COMMUNITY PUZZLES!
Puzzle sheets, available at the library, lead to Ripon locations hosting letter clues. Find all the letters and unscramble to make a phrase that reflects the history of Ripon. Turn in your solved puzzle to be entered into a drawing for Chamber Bucks! This exciting quest is made possible with support from the Ripon Historical Society and local businesses.

Be sure to enjoy the Kindness Tree that graces the library’s entrance windows. This gorgeous artwork, by Carissa Rivara Sorensen, provides an opportunity to share messages of kindness and support with others. Read others’ messages and add your own!

Come checkout a Family Pass providing free entrance to the Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac and Sheboygan’s Above & Beyond Children’s Museum. The mission of these amazing organizations is to support childhood development utilizing innovative exhibits and programs that engage children, their caregivers, and the community in lifelong learning through play.
STAY COOL IN THE ROMPER ROOM
Physical activity and human connections are important for healthy, happy human beings, and the Romper Room facilitates both! Focusing on active play, the room features trikes, foot-to-floor vehicles, a balance bike, tunnels, tumbling mats, balance beams, and more. The Romper Room is most engaging for ages 2-6 years, though older kids are welcome. The Romper Room is always open during regular library hours. Drop-ins are welcome.

STORYTIME

How it works:
1. Be a senior in Waushara County (60+), and take a tour of a Waushara County
Coordinated Transportation vehicle (van or bus) at ONE of the following

Greetings from the Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin,
We are thrilled to announce that registration is now open for a Celebration of 15 Years in Waushara County with the Community Foundation at (cfcwi.org/15waushara). Over the years, the Foundation and its donors have provided the community with over 1 million dollars in grants, scholarships, and COVID relief funding and we are excited to celebrate it with the community.

Join us Sat. August 5th on the Village Green in downtown Ripon for a morning of community fun and support as Ripon Noon Kiwanis proudly presents the “Walk & Roll” event! As part of our ongoing commitment to raising funds for the all-inclusive playground to be located at Riggs County Park, we invite individuals of all abilities and ages to participate in this just-for-fun extravaganza. Lace up your skates, put on your walking shoes, hop on your bike, grab your wheelchair or scooter, or push your stroller, because everyone is welcome! Bring your family, your book club, your walking/running group, your grandparents, or your best friend!
This event features a short course that is suitable for participants of all abilities and ages. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or just starting out, you’ll find the course enjoyable and accessible. As you walk or roll along, you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about outdoor play and the inclusive equipment provided at the playground.
Door prizes may be available. So, not only will you have a fantastic time, but you might even go home with a special treat!
A Rolling Skills Challenge Course will set up under the pergola so you can test your skills with your bike, scooter, skates, or wheelchair. Prizes for accuracy!
For social media fans we will offer a selfie station to show off your backing!
Most importantly, info about the planned All-Accessible Playground at Riggs County Park will be at hand.
In the spirit of community support, we kindly ask for a free will offering to help raise funds for the all-inclusive playground. Together, let’s make a positive impact and create a welcoming space for everyone to enjoy. Join us at the “Walk & Roll” event and let’s have a fantastic day while supporting a great cause!
