The 15th Annual and Final Kim Pope Memorial Ride for Kids with Brain Cancer will be held on May 4th. It is a 100-mile ride across Wisconsin in honor of Kim Pope, a woman who, in 2004, lost her battle with brain cancer. The ride, created in Pope’s memory, is a fundraiser for the fight against brain cancer and for local children fighting it themselves.
Registration for the ride will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on the day. Riders will meet at The Crossings Bar & Grill at Highway 54 and 110 east of Waupaca. The cost is $25 per person or $35 per couple. All vehicles are welcome. There will also be door prizes, a 50/50 raffle, and a silent auction, with an after party following the ride at River Rail Bar in Shiocton.

He has been a fulltime song writer and performer for nearly 30 years, with concerts large and small throughout the US, Canada, and Europe. Wates’ music is an eclectic mix of acoustic, melodic art/folk, flavored with a bit of jazz, vaudeville, and cabaret. He lays claim to 40 plus songwriting and performing awards, has released 9 solo cd’s, and his songs have been covered by many other artists. Freedom Fest is Waushara County’s celebration of Independence Day sponsored by the Waushara Area Chamber of Commerce. The festival will be held on Saturday, July 6th with the parade beforehand at 5:00pm. The event will then continue on at the Waushara County Fairgrounds with food, entertainment and kids activities followed by one of the area’s finest displays of fireworks sponsored by various businesses and organizations. Each year the cost of the fireworks increases and raising the funds gets harder. To help offset some of these expenses, the WACC Board Members will be holding a Brat Fry at Copps in Wautoma from 10am-2pm on Friday, May 24th. We’ll be serving up brats, burgers, and hot dogs. Come buy your lunch from us and help support Freedom Fest 2019 in the process, we hope to see you all there!

This event is a 4-person scramble and will include 9 holes with a cart, raffles, hole event prizes, awards, and dinner catered by Two Oaks to follow golf for $49 per person.
