    Event Details:Please join us for a gathering in the A.R.Albert and Viletta Hawley-Albert Horticulture Garden located at the Hancock Agricultural Research Station, Hancock Wisconsin on August 15th from 4-7pm. Guest researchers and staff will be in the garden to share their knowledge on topics such as growing and harvesting sweet potatoes, 3 sister garden, and ‘what’s bugging your garden”
    Friends of the garden will be sharing some home spun recipes and samplings-while they last….including blueberry lemonade, yum!!
    Bring the children to ‘Bucky’s Sand Mound”, a place to embrace nature head to toe!
    Wagon tours of the garden and the Hancock Station will be running through the event. Our wagons have wheelchair seating available.

    Ripon Area Community Theatre (RACT) Presents “The Wizard of Oz”

    The Ripon Area Community Theatre (RACT) is proud to present, “The Wizard of Oz,” August 16-18!

    Featuring a large cast of area talent, join us and see the classic tale of Dorothy Gale, as she and her faithful pet Toto find themselves in the magical land of Oz. Follow Dorothy as she travels the Yellow Brick Road, meeting new friends in the form of the Scarecrow, Tinman and Lion; evading the clutches of the Wicked Witch of the West and trying desperately to meet the wonderful Wizard of Oz, in the hopes that he might help Dorothy get home. After all, there is no place like home.

    Performances are Friday, August 16th at 7pm; Saturday, August 17th at 2pm and 7pm; and Sunday, August 18th at 2pm, in the Ripon High School Auditorium, 850 Tiger Dr, in Ripon.

    Tickets are $10 for general admission, $5 for Ages 6-18, and ages 5 and under are free.

    There will be concessions and a 50/50 raffle during intermission, which helps support RACT productions.

    Tickets are available online at https://ract.riponnoonkiwanis.org/WizardofOz or can be purchased at the door. The house will open 30 minutes before each performance.

    The Ripon Area Community Theatre is a sponsored program of the Ripon Noon Kiwanis, with additional sponsorship by Dante and Jennifer Houston.

    It is the mission of Collaborative Wellness to cultivate growth and wellness through connection with individuals, families, and organizations in our community.
    This event aims to support people of all ages and demographics in our community who seek mental health and/or substance use support. Your dollars go directly to funding services that are life saving and life changing. These services are not only offered to your family members, friends, neighbors, and coworkers, but also provide mental health support to those who work in various organizations that serve the most vulnerable populations.
    Our continued goal is to break down barriers to people accessing care. With your support, we can ALL make an impact!

    Madison Wisconsin’s Steely Dane Will Play at Thrasher Opera House on August 17


    Green Lake, Wis.
     (July 08, 2024) – Madison Wisconsin’s Steely Dane will perform at Thrasher Opera House in Green Lake, Wisconsin, on Saturday, August 17, at 7:30 p.m. Winner of multiple awards for best tribute band, Steely Dane is dedicated to not only faithfully reproducing the Steely Dan and Donald Fagen songbook, but to bringing an energetic live-show experience to the crowd. 

     

    Fourteen of Dane County’s best jazz and rock musicians have banded together around their passion for Steely Dan music, playing in the same configuration as the Steely Dan touring band including a four-piece horn section and three background singers. Shows consist of hits and deep cuts and sometimes even complete albums and are sure to have you out of your seats singing along.

     

    Steely Dane’s performance is sponsored by Farmers & Merchants Bank, Knuth Brewing Co. Michael and Jeanne Shohoney, and Steve’s Quality Painting and Washing. This event is supported in part by a grant from the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation and the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts.
