    Thrasher Opera House’s Harvest of Bargains sale in September

    Green Lake, Wis. (September 1, 2023) – Thrasher Opera House is overflowing with a year’s worth of treasures – and ready to sell, sell, sell at the annual Harvest of Bargains sale during Green Lake’s Harvest Fest weekend on Saturday & Sunday, September 23 & 24!

     

    The bargain hunter’s paradise will be set up in two locations and open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both days. There will be an impressive display of items at each location – so stop by to purchase quality items of all kinds. Who knows…maybe you will find that unique treasure while helping to support the area community’s treasure, Thrasher Opera House.

     

    As a bit of a guide, here is a listing of some items at each location. Thrasher Opera House in downtown Green Lake: home décor, dish sets, cooking & food service items, glassware, purses, jewelry, vintage items, children’s furniture, stuffed animals, puzzles and games, and seasonal items. Shoreline Boat Center at 540 Commercial Ave, Building #4: furniture, framed artwork, Christmas décor, pillows, afghans, comforters, garden art, vintage tools/tools, outdoor furniture, lamps, sporting goods, bikes, office furniture and accessories, vintage typewriters and sewing machines.

    Ripon, WI- Ripon Public Library is excited to announce its September lineup of events and offerings for all ages! Thanks to the Friends of the Library, and other generous donors, programming is always free.

    Connected humans are happier humans! Get ready for National Good Neighbor Day, September 28th. Drop in this weekend to create “neighborly” notes and browse ideas for hosting a “good neighbor” party or activity of your own.

    SAT SEPT 23 @ 10 AM – NOON | TEEN PROGRAM

    Enjoy Henna Tattoos with Henna by Kelly Rad. Come on in and get a tattoo! There will be several patterns to choose from.  Get a tattoo and show it off to your friends.  This natural dye will last about 2 weeks. This is a drop-in program.

    MON SEP 25 @ 6:30-7:30 PM | ADULT BOOK DISCUSSION: Karl Stewart–Up Harvey’s Creek

    Copies of Up Harvey’s Creek are available for pick up at the library beginning August 29th! Enjoy a lively and friendly discussion with other readers on September 25. Attending the related Adult Learning Series event on September 11 is optional but will add to the reading experience.

    SAT SEP 30 @ 12-4 PM | BOARD GAME TOURNAMENT | AGES 10 TO ADULT 

    The library will host a one-day board game tournament for ages 10+. The event is inspired by the World Series of Board Gaming, held the week of September 24 in Las Vegas. Players who progress to the finals round compete for the top prize in a game of 7 Wonders. Win your share of $100 in gift cards from sponsor Adventure Games. Co-hosted by Alexandria Games.     NEW! CHECKOUT A MUSEUM PASS

    Come checkout a Family Pass providing free entrance to the Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac and Sheboygan’s Above & Beyond Children’s Museum. The mission of these amazing organizations is to support childhood development utilizing innovative exhibits and programs that engage children, their caregivers, and the community in lifelong learning through play.

    PLAY IN THE ROMPER ROOM

    Physical activity and human connections are important for healthy, happy human beings, and the Romper Room facilitates both! Focusing on active play, the room features trikes, foot-to-floor vehicles, a balance bike, tunnels, tumbling mats, balance beams, and more. The Romper Room is most engaging for ages 2-6 years, though older kids are welcome. The Romper Room is always open during regular library hours. Drop-ins are welcome.

    DROP-IN BOREDOM BUSTERS

    Enjoy coloring and activity sheets, board games, and toys every day in the children’s department.

    New Summer/Fall Season at Thrasher Opera House Released 

     

    Green Lake, Wis. (May 19, 2023) – An extensive mix of entertainers will perform at Thrasher Opera House this summer and fall.  With a blend of past performers and new artists to debut at Thrasher, we are excited to welcome our guests to Summer/Fall Season.  Thrasher Opera House Executive Director Rachael Avery says, “We’re looking forward to a fresh, new season that represents a variety of genres, from blues, singer/songwriters, rock n’ roll, jazz, and everything in between. We’ll welcome several new artists for the first time; others are fan favorites who will bring their talents back to the historical stage.”  Tickets will go on sale for all shows on Friday, May 19, at 10:00 a.m.  More information on all shows is available at www.thrasheroperahouse.com or by calling 920.294.4279

    Renowned American blues guitarist and singer known for electrifying performances and soulful vocals. He began as a drummer, playing w/legendary blues musician Albert Collins. Blending traditional blues with rock and Latin influences.

    Known for his soulful blend of folk, rock, and blues music, Rodriguez has released several albums throughout his career, often dealing with love, loss, and redemption themes. He’s shared the stage with The Civil Wars, Andy Grammer, Will Hoge, Sister Hazel, and more.

    A folk music band from Maine, known for their modern interpretation of traditional Acadian and Celtic music. The band incorporates a variety of instruments such as guitar, fiddle, mandolin, and percussion to create their unique sound.

    A soulful sound that blends rock, blues, country, and folk influences, The Weight Band was formed in 2013 by former members of The Band. They perform original songs and covers of classic songs from The Band and other legendary artists.

    Kick off the Holidays in Green Lake! Gather family & friends for a fun holiday photo op by Ric Damm Photography at 1 p.m., followed by a showing of The Polar Express at 2 p.m. Only 200 seats are available on a first-come basis, so come early to get a spot.     The Barefoot Movement invites you to join them for their holiday celebration performance. Complete with all your classic seasonal favorites wrapped in a Christmas package; you’ll hear acoustic renditions of everything from Chuck Berry’s “Run Run Rudolph” to “Oh Holy Night.”  Stories and Christmas memories from the band, the music, and cheer will fill you with an enduring feeling of love and hope that will warm your heart throughout the year!
