    Ripon Noon Kiwanis hosting Annual Pancake Breakfast as part of Septemberfest

    Start Septemberfest with a hot stack of pancakes and sausage! The Ripon Noon Kiwanis will be hosting their annual Pancake Breakfast as part of Septemberfest, Saturday, September 16 from 8-11am, on the Village Green.

    Cost is $10, children 10 and under are FREE! The breakfast includes sausage, apple sauce, assorted beverages and of course, pancakes. And what better to go with pancakes than a free toppings bar, filled with all the fixings to go with your flapjacks.
    The Pancake Breakfast helps support, in part, the many projects and programs the Kiwanis spearhead in our community; including the Children’s Fair, recurring scholarships, community theatre, and the all-inclusive playground project at Riggs County Park.

    Ripon, WI- Ripon Public Library is excited to announce its September lineup of events and offerings for all ages! Thanks to the Friends of the Library, and other generous donors, programming is always free.

     

    SAT SEPT 16 | SEPTEMBERFEST COMMUNITY EVENT | Downtown Ripon

    Spot a librarian at Septemberfest! We’ll be serving pancakes with all the toppings at the Ripon Noon Kiwanis pancake breakfast where proceeds help to fund the All-inclusive Playground improvements at Riggs County Park. You might find us camouflaged among the animals at the petting zoo or chumming with sidewalk artists. Stop to say, “hello,” and receive a prize!

    TUE SEP 19 @ 10 AM | LEARN TO LOVE LIBBY | ALL AGES

    Libby is YOUR digital library! Borrow eBooks, digital audiobooks, and magazines from home. All you need is a library card. Learn how easy it is to navigate this great FREE resource!  Bring your device and library card for best results. This is a registered program.  Class size is limited to 6.  Due to limited space and anticipated interest, this class will repeat for the next two months on the third Tuesday of the month.

    THU SEP 21 @ 6-7:30 PM | CRAFT CLUB: Storybook roses | AGES 10 AND UP

    Create a beautiful bouquet of roses using pages from old books! Youth are welcome with adult supervision.

    Families are welcome. No registration necessary.

    Calling all strategists, team players, and those who like to test their luck—enjoy an evening of tabletop board games! Staff will be on hand to teach and guide players through a variety of entertaining and easy-to-learn games with no experience necessary.

    In September, we’re featuring games from the 2023 World Series of Board Gaming! Learn the rules of the six games coming up in our Tabletop Tournament on Sep. 30! Reserve your seat today.

    Can’t make it? This recurring adult event (ages 16+) is held in the Silver Creek Room on the 3rd Wednesday of each month.

    Connected humans are happier humans! Get ready for National Good Neighbor Day, September 28th. Drop in this weekend to create “neighborly” notes and browse ideas for hosting a “good neighbor” party or activity of your own.

    Enjoy Henna Tattoos with Henna by Kelly Rad. Come on in and get a tattoo! There will be several patterns to choose from.  Get a tattoo and show it off to your friends.  This natural dye will last about 2 weeks. This is a drop-in program.

    MON SEP 25 @ 6:30-7:30 PM | ADULT BOOK DISCUSSION: Karl Stewart–Up Harvey’s Creek

    Copies of Up Harvey’s Creek are available for pick up at the library beginning August 29th! Enjoy a lively and friendly discussion with other readers on September 25. Attending the related Adult Learning Series event on September 11 is optional but will add to the reading experience.

    SAT SEP 30 @ 12-4 PM | BOARD GAME TOURNAMENT | AGES 10 TO ADULT 

    The library will host a one-day board game tournament for ages 10+. The event is inspired by the World Series of Board Gaming, held the week of September 24 in Las Vegas. Players who progress to the finals round compete for the top prize in a game of 7 Wonders. Win your share of $100 in gift cards from sponsor Adventure Games. Co-hosted by Alexandria Games.     NEW! CHECKOUT A MUSEUM PASS

    Come checkout a Family Pass providing free entrance to the Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac and Sheboygan’s Above & Beyond Children’s Museum. The mission of these amazing organizations is to support childhood development utilizing innovative exhibits and programs that engage children, their caregivers, and the community in lifelong learning through play.

    PLAY IN THE ROMPER ROOM

    Physical activity and human connections are important for healthy, happy human beings, and the Romper Room facilitates both! Focusing on active play, the room features trikes, foot-to-floor vehicles, a balance bike, tunnels, tumbling mats, balance beams, and more. The Romper Room is most engaging for ages 2-6 years, though older kids are welcome. The Romper Room is always open during regular library hours. Drop-ins are welcome.

    New Summer/Fall Season at Thrasher Opera House Released 

     

    Green Lake, Wis. (May 19, 2023) – An extensive mix of entertainers will perform at Thrasher Opera House this summer and fall.  With a blend of past performers and new artists to debut at Thrasher, we are excited to welcome our guests to Summer/Fall Season.  Thrasher Opera House Executive Director Rachael Avery says, “We’re looking forward to a fresh, new season that represents a variety of genres, from blues, singer/songwriters, rock n’ roll, jazz, and everything in between. We’ll welcome several new artists for the first time; others are fan favorites who will bring their talents back to the historical stage.”  Tickets will go on sale for all shows on Friday, May 19, at 10:00 a.m.  More information on all shows is available at www.thrasheroperahouse.com or by calling 920.294.4279

    Ripon Noon Kiwanis hosting a free outdoor sing-along of "Grease"

    Grease is the word! The Ripon Noon Kiwanis will be hosting a free outdoor sing-along screening of the musical classic, “Grease,” starring John Travolta, Olivia Newton John and an all-star supporting cast; Saturday, September 16th on the Village.

    The movie will start at approximately 7pm.
    This is a a SING-ALONG screening of Grease, meaning the audience is not just welcome to sing with the music, but encouraged. Mics will be set up near the screen (at ground level) where audience members can take turns belting out their renditions of classics like, “Hopelessly Devoted” and “Greased Lightning”!
    Lawn seating. Bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket. Grease is rated PG-13 and older audiences are recommended.
    The Septemberfest outdoor movie screening of Grease (Sing-Along) is co-sponsored by the Ripon Noon Kiwanis and Divine Passage Funeral Home, in partnership with the Ripon Chamber of Commerce.
