Paul Thorn Band to Play Two Sold Out Shows at Thrasher Opera House
Green Lake, Wis. (May 15, 2023) – Singer/Songwriter Paul Thorn returns to Thrasher Opera House in
Green Lake, Wisconsin, for two sold-out shows on June 1 and June 2. Thorn has been making music for
over two decades, releasing critically acclaimed albums and touring the world with his band. He has
shared the stage with Bonnie Raitt, Mark Knopfler, and Sting and has been praised for his soulful voice,
powerful songwriting, and electrifying live shows.
He is set to release his latest album, “Never Too Late to Call,” on June 23, 2023, via his own Perpetual
Obscurity Records label. The album features ten new original songs that showcase Thorn’s signature mix
of Americana, roots rock, and blues.
“Never Too Late to Call” was produced by Thorn and Grammy-winning producer Matt Ross-Spang (Jason
Isbell, John Prine) and recorded at Sam Phillips Recording Studio in Memphis, TN. The album features
guest appearances from legendary bluesman Bobby Rush and singer-songwriter Nikki Lane. “I’m excited
to be hitting the road again and sharing these new songs with my fans,” says Thorn. “This album is about
second chances and never giving up on yourself. I think we could all use a little bit of that right now.”
Condon Total Comfort, Guaranty Closing & Title Services, KH Jankowski Construction, Adams Rib, &
Emmer Real Estate sponsor Thorn’s performances. Artist hospitality is courtesy of Goose Blind Grill &
Bar, Murphy’s on Green, and Creative Contractors. The Alfred T. Peck Jr. Fund, a grant from the
Oshkosh Area Community Foundation and the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of
Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts, also supports this show.
Thrasher Opera House’s mission is to promote the arts and the power of live performance, provide a
community gathering place, and preserve the historic Thrasher Opera House—a charming, intimate,
friendly venue with excellent acoustics. Built-in 1910, restored in 1997, and on the National Register of
Historic Places. Seats 200. For more information, please visit www.thrasheroperahouse.com

Ripon Kiwanis clubs announce launch of fundraising campaign
The Ripon Kiwanis clubs are thrilled to announce the launch of our official fundraising campaign for a brand-new, all-inclusive playground at Riggs County Park!
The Early Bird and Noon Kiwanis Clubs will be holding an information and talkback session Tuesday, June 6th at 5:30, in the Ripon High School Community room; where members of the community can learn all about the project, ask questions and find out how they can get involved.
The playground will be located directly adjacent to the Kiwanis splash pad for easy access. Ground prep is scheduled to start later this year with installation of the equipment starting the following spring or summer.
Research findings have consistently shown the incredible benefits of inclusive playgrounds. They foster social interaction, promote physical activity, and enhance cognitive development among children of all abilities. By supporting our campaign, you can help us make these advantages accessible to every child in our community.
Gary Scholtens, president of the Noon Kiwanis club says, “Investing in an inclusive playground is not just about creating a space for play, but about building a world of acceptance, equality, and boundless possibilities. It is a testament to the power of diversity, where every child can explore, connect, and thrive, knowing that their unique abilities and differences are celebrated. Inclusive playgrounds not only unlock the joy of childhood, but also cultivate empathy, understanding, and a brighter future for all.”
Did you know that the nearest all-inclusive playground is currently located a half hour away? Together, we can create a playground that caters to the needs of all area children, regardless of ability or background. For the past two years, the Kiwanis clubs have been working closely with Terry Dietzel from Fond du Lac County on plans and budgets.
Let’s join hands and build a place where children can come together, play, and grow without any barriers. Look for announcements of upcoming events where you actively be a part of the campaign. Donate today to help us reach our fundraising goal and make the dream of an all-inclusive playground a reality.
