Ripon, WI- Ripon Public Library is excited to announce its July 2022 lineup of special events for all ages! Thanks to funding from the Friends of the library, events and special offerings are always free. Registration is not required unless noted.

Ocean in a bottle Craft | Tues July 5 @ 2-4 pm |TEENS & Thu July 7 @ 6-7:30 |ADULTS
Want to be able to take the ocean with you wherever you go? Come and create an ocean in a bottle!
Washed Ashore Ocean Art + STEM | Sat July 9 @ 10-11 am | ALL AGES
Introducing art that saves the ocean! Inspired by the wave-making new book by Kelly Crull, this event offers an ocean of creative possibilities for personal creations AND a collaborative installation. Enjoy a virtual visit by author Kelly Crull and hands-on guidance from local artist Laura Pahlas. The collaborative art project requires bottles of various sizes and colors; colored caps and lids; and small cups and containers. Until July 7, please drop off clean disposable plastic in the collection bin at the library.

Dean Shaffer, thespian & star gazer extraordinaire, entertains with stories of the night sky’s constellations. BYO blankets, lawn chairs, insect repellent, and beverages. Library will provide a snack of Moon Pies! Entrance to Riggs County Park is located at N8137 Douglas St., Ripon.

Simple yoga poses plus a fruit & vegetable snack = healthy fun for the whole family!

Come and tell us what programs and events you want to see at the library! Open to any teen (or tween) who wants to share their ideas for cool and fun programs and events! Snacks provided during this event!

Join us for a relaxing hangout behind the library by Silver Creek while learning how to play singing bowls!

Enjoy a variety of artist-inspired projects with a STEM component. Featuring marshmallow catapults for painting Jackson-Pollock-style works of art and more! Local artist Laura Pahlas offers hands-on guidance.

Don’t miss local musical legend Bill Kehl’s interactive performance on instruments from all over the world! It’s a concert unlike any other with global music plus fascinating insights about the discovery and development of musical instruments. Includes music, stories, & audience participation.

Make your own abstract work of art! By dripping paint onto a canvas and swishing it around with a paint brush, make a beautiful, custom art piece you’ll be proud to hang.
Third Lake Brass Quintet + Cookie social | FRI AUG 5 @ 12:15 PM | ALL AGES
Green Lake Festival of Music presents this free program in accordance with its mission to make world class music and musicians accessible to all! Relax and enjoy a rousing performance, educational components, and Q & A with the artists. Stay, chat, snack—COOKIES WILL BE SERVED!
Ongoing Programs
Romper Room
Physical activity and human connections are important for healthy, happy human beings, and the Romper Room facilitates both! Focusing on active play the room features a trike & trailer, foot-to-floor vehicles, a balance bike, tunnels, tumbling mats, balance beams, and more. The Romper Room is most engaging for ages 2-6 years. Reserve a play time with family and friends by the library.
Monday Matinees
Every Monday at 2:00 p.m. enjoy a newly released or classic film on the big screen. For movie title and rating call the library or check the website. Please note there will be no Monday Matinee on May 30th as the Library will be closed for Memorial Day.
Book Bites
Take a morsel-sized look at a great book with Adult & Teen Services Librarian Rachel. New episodes of Book Bites will be posted every two weeks on our Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram!
