    Ripon, WI- Ripon Public Library is excited to announce its July 2022 lineup of special events for all ages! Thanks to funding from the Friends of the library, events and special offerings are always free. Registration is not required unless noted.

    July Programs

    Water Art + STEM | Sat July 23 drop-in 10 am-noon | ALL AGES

    Enjoy a variety of artist-inspired projects with a STEM component. Featuring marshmallow catapults for painting Jackson-Pollock-style works of art and more! Local artist Laura Pahlas offers hands-on guidance.

     

    Funday Monday! | Earth, Music…Magic! | July 25 @ 6:30 -7:30 PM | ALL AGES

    Don’t miss local musical legend Bill Kehl’s interactive performance on instruments from all over the world! It’s a concert unlike any other with global music plus fascinating insights about the discovery and development of musical instruments. Includes music, stories, & audience participation.

    Drip & Swish Painting | Tues July 26 @ 2-4 pm |TEENS & Thu July 28 @ 6-7:30 pm | ADULTS

    Make your own abstract work of art! By dripping paint onto a canvas and swishing it around with a paint brush, make a beautiful, custom art piece you’ll be proud to hang.

     

    Third Lake Brass Quintet + Cookie social | FRI AUG 5 @ 12:15 PM | ALL AGES

    Green Lake Festival of Music presents this free program in accordance with its mission to make world class music and musicians accessible to all! Relax and enjoy a rousing performance, educational components, and Q & A with the artists. Stay, chat, snack—COOKIES WILL BE SERVED!

     

     

    Ongoing Programs

     

    Romper Room

    Physical activity and human connections are important for healthy, happy human beings, and the Romper Room facilitates both! Focusing on active play the room features a trike & trailer, foot-to-floor vehicles, a balance bike, tunnels, tumbling mats, balance beams, and more. The Romper Room is most engaging for ages 2-6 years. Reserve a play time with family and friends by the library.

     

    Monday Matinees

    Every Monday at 2:00 p.m. enjoy a newly released or classic film on the big screen. For movie title and rating call the library or check the website. Please note there will be no Monday Matinee on May 30th as the Library will be closed for Memorial Day.

     

    Book Bites

    Take a morsel-sized look at a great book with Adult & Teen Services Librarian Rachel. New episodes of Book Bites will be posted every two weeks on our Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram!

    Event Details:St. Paul’s Lutheran Church will be having their annual Ice Cream Sundae Social at Robert’s Park, in conjunction with the Party on the Pond celebration. Our famous Brownie Sundaes are back! Vanilla ice cream with a wide array of toppings to choose from will be available. Go for the Gusto and have a home-made brownie on the bottom of your Sundae.

They will be serving a plate lunch featuring home-made desserts in the garden from 11-2pm.; Jesse Phillips (of Welsh descent), will be featured. To learn more: PEONYGARDENS/Mysite (rosendalehistoricalsociety.org) Gardens open to self-guided viewing everyday the peonies are blooming. Rosendale Historical Museum (The Grange Hall) 203 West Division Street, Highway 23, Rosendale, WI 54974

    Board members will speak about the History of the Oshkosh Welsh Settlement.  Tea presentation by Ann Lemmenes. Te bach (little tea) to follow $10 RSVP required by August 19
