Fox Cities Swing Band to Perform Free Holiday Concert at Thrasher Opera House
Green Lake, Wis. (November 30, 2022) – The Fox Cities Swing Band will perform a free Holiday Concert as a Gift to the Community at the historic Thrasher Opera House Sunday, December 18, 2022, at 2:00 p.m.
The Fox Cities Swing Band has been together for over twelve years. The band specializes in the ’40s and 50’s jazz standards from the significant band era. The ensemble is made up of a variety of musicians from all over the Fox Valley area. On average, the ensemble plays six to ten times yearly for events at retirement communities, fundraisers, birthday parties, community events, and wedding receptions. Members manage the band. This show is free to attend at Thrasher Opera House.
Thrasher Opera House Board of Directors member Steve Yeomans is sponsoring this show. Better Homes and Garden Real Estate Special Properties sponsor the 2022 Fall/Winter Season at Thrasher Opera House. This event is supported in part by a grant from the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation and the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts.
Thrasher Opera House’s mission is to promote the arts and the power of live performance, provide a community gathering place, and preserve the historic Thrasher Opera House. A charming, intimate, friendly venue with excellent acoustics. Built-in 1910, restored in 1997, and on the National Register of Historic Places. Seats 200. Ripon, WI- Ripon Public Library is excited to announce its December lineup of special events for all ages! Thanks to funding from the Friends of the library, events and special offerings are always free. Registration is not required unless noted.

Boardgame Bonanza | WED DEC 21 @ 6:00 PM | Adult
Calling all strategists, team players, and those who like to test their luck—enjoy an evening of tabletop board games! A variety of entertaining and easy to learn games will be available with no experience necessary. Staff will be on hand to teach and guide players through each game!

Ongoing Programs

Romper Room
Physical activity and human connections are important for healthy, happy human beings, and the Romper Room facilitates both! Focusing on active play the room features a trike & trailer, foot-to-floor vehicles, a balance bike, tunnels, tumbling mats, balance beams, and more. The Romper Room is most engaging for ages 2-6 years, though older kids are welcome. The Romper Room is always open during regular library hours. Drop-ins are welcome, though reserving a specific play time with family and friends assures availability.

Monday Matinees
Every Monday at 2:00 p.m. enjoy a newly released or classic film on the big screen. For movie title and rating call the library or check the website.
Holiday Closings
The library will be closed Saturday, December 24, Sunday, December 25, and Sunday, January 1, and open regular hours all other days: Monday through Thursday 9 AM to 8 PM, Friday 9 AM to 6 PM, Saturday 9 AM to 4 PM, and Sunday 1 to 4 PM.

Berlin Public Library will close

at 4 pm on Thursday.

Closed all day Friday, December 23.

Due to the high winds expected and low visibility on the roads, and to keep staff and patrons safe, the Berlin Public Library will close Thursday, December 22 at 4 pm and will be closed on Friday, December 23.

The library is closed December 24 – 26 for the holidays. We will reopen Tuesday, December 27 at 9 am.

All items due today and tomorrow, are now due back Tuesday, December 27.
