Photographer David Anderson is Thrasher’s Featured Artist Through December
PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
November 2, 2022CONTACT: Jason Mansmithjason@thrasheroperahouse.com
920.294.4279Photographer David Anderson is Thrasher’s Featured Artist Through December
Green Lake, Wis. (November 2, 2022) – David Anderson’s passion for photography started quite by accident. During a family gathering around Thanksgiving, he removed a roll of 120 film from his uncle’s camera. Why wait? He wanted to see the photos. There were no pictures, just yellow and black paper with a strip of undeveloped negative. After a long lecture, he was sent to his room. This wasn’t over; at Christmas a box from Sears, Roebuck & Co. appeared. It was a darkroom in a box. Everything was included: camera, film, small enlarger, trays, safe light, chemicals, and print paper. Most importantly, there was an instruction booklet. The love for photography and creating images began when David shot, developed, and printed his first photos before he was ten years old.
Fast forward. After spending his career working for marketing companies, commercial printers and graphic artists he found his way home to his photography roots. In 2012 Anderson Photo Group was conceived to create headshots, individual and family portraits, and offer consulting for other photographers. Daily, Anderson Photo Group creates headshots for professional business including financial planers, lawyers, accounting firms, physicians, veterinarians, and even individuals who want their social media profiles to look awesome. Individual and family portraits are regularly on the schedule and 4 to 6 hours each week are devoted to consulting on Lightroom, Photoshop and general photography including beginner to advanced topics.
The exhibit will be displayed at the Thrasher Gallery until December 31. The Thrasher gallery is at 510 Mill St., Green Lake, WI, 54941. The gallery is open to the public on weekdays from 10 a.m. – to 4 p.m. and is accessible to concert patrons on event nights.

Waushara County Caregiver Appreciation Day
Waushara County Department of Aging Contact:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Waushara County Caregiver Appreciation Day
Caregivers often put those they care for, ahead of themselves. The Department of Aging has chosen November 28 to honor and thank informal caregivers for all that they do for others, during Caregiver Appreciation Day, being held at the Stahl Celebration Center in Wautoma from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm. The theme for the event is “Celebrate the Passions That Enrich Your Life.”
The mission of the day is to provide education, encouragement, and support for caregivers. The event will begin with speaker Carmela Mulroe sharing “Adventures with Dad – the Lighter Side of Caregiving.” Carmela cared for her father who lived out of state. Her goal is to help caregivers learn to set boundaries for their health and sanity. Carmela will also teach how to create connections that can assist with future challenges, as well as discuss how to put fun and laughter in the picture.
“Laughter is an important element to life in most situations, by giving moods a boost and increasing positive thoughts,” says Martha Bechard, Caregiver Coordinator with the Department of Aging. “Carmela uses stories from her days with her father to shed light on the idea of giving yourself permission to laugh during stressful caregiving situations.”
MaryAnn Schilling, UW Extension Educator will lead an exercise titled “Stepping Away with Mindfulness.” Participants will learn how to take time out to experience beneficial exercises that help with deeper breathing, tension release, and teach how to trust in your feelings.
After the presentations, attendees are invited to enjoy a provided box lunch and conversation with other caregivers or may take the lunch to go. Reserve your place and lunch by calling Martha Bechard at (920) 787-0403 by Monday, November 21. Stahl Celebration Center is located at W7452 State Road 21/73 in Wautoma.

“Born and raised on the Oneida Reservation in northeastern Wisconsin, Louis V. Clark III turned to poetry to continue the oral tradition of his people, the People of the Standing Stone. He is a member of the Iroquois Confederacy and of the Bear clan. His first chapbook, titled Two Shoes, was published in the spring of 2011 by the Sequoyah National Research Center at the University of Arkansas. His memoir How to Be an Indian in the 21st Century, published by the Wisconsin Historical Society Press, received the Midwest Booksellers Choice Award for 2017 and was recognized as a work of Outstanding Poetry by the Wisconsin Library Association. He received a Fellowship Award for his work from the Oneida Nation Arts Program and the Wisconsin Arts Board” (foxcitiesbookfestival.org). Louis has also published a second book, Rebel Poet, More Stories of a 21st Century Indian. In this eagerly anticipated follow-up to his first book, the author delves more deeply into the themes of family, community, grief, and the struggle to make a place in the world when your very identity is considered suspect. We are very blessed to have Louis living here in Wisconsin and even more excited that he has agreed to come and do an author “meet -and-greet” on Wednesday, November 30th at 5:30 pm at Caramel Crisp Corner!
