Head Start and Early Head Start are quality prenatal, early childhood and family development programs for eligible families. The programs provide education, health, nutrition and social/emotional services for each child and offer support and family development services to all family members.
Families must meet eligibility guidelines and are asked to bring income verification to their application appointment. Families whose children have documented disabilities are also encouraged to apply. Parents are encouraged to call for an appointment as soon as possible as enrollment is limited.

Residents interested in receiving FREE food are limited to visit one pantry site per week. This food is available for ALL community members. No proof of identification, income, or other information is required. When attending a drive-thru pantry, drivers remain in their vehicles and volunteers place boxes of food in their trunk or back seat. Drivers are asked to make space in their trunks to assist with this process.
Mobile sites have been serving Waushara County since last May. These pantries have been provided by the Wisconsin’s Hunger Task Force and Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin in partnership with Waushara County Food Pantry, the Waushara Prevention Council, Inc. and the Waushara County Department of Human Services. Local agencies have been assisted by an army of community volunteers along with businesses, community organizations and municipalities who hosted and continue to host pantry sites.

Event Details: The Yarn Hand Dyeing at Farm Wisconsin 9:00 am – 12:00pm on Saturday February 30th.
During this workshop, Carol Wagner of Hidden Valley Farm and Woolen Mill, will walk participants through a yarn dying experience. Yarn provided for the class will come straight from Carol’s flock of purebred Coopworth sheep. Each participant will dye two skeins of yarn to take home from the class.
Class size is limited to allow for one-on-one instruction as participants learn about:
🐑 properties of wool
🐑 the process of yarn spinning
🐑 methods of yarn dyeing
🐑 take a turn at dyeing their own yarn.
Cost is $60 per person.
Each participant will have their own 6′ table to complete their project, allowing plenty of room for social distancing.

Organizers announce today that three sites will continue to provide no contact distribution of food in Waushara County during the entire month of February 2021.
Residents interested in receiving FREE food are limited to visit one pantry site per week. This food is available for ALL community members. No proof of identification, income, or other information is required. When attending a drive-thru pantry, drivers remain in their vehicles and volunteers place boxes of food in their trunk or back seat. Drivers are asked to make space in their trunks to assist with this process.
Mobile sites have been serving Waushara County since last May. These pantries have been provided by the Wisconsin’s Hunger Task Force and Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin in partnership with Waushara County Food Pantry, the Waushara Prevention Council, Inc. and the Waushara County Department of Human Services. Local agencies have been assisted by an army of community volunteers along with businesses, community organizations and municipalities who hosted and continue to host pantry sites.
