    Waukau Chicken BBQ and Youth Days Parade

    The 51st Annual Youth Days and Waukau chicken BBQ will be held Sunday June 9, rain or shine. Serving starts at 11:00 AM until sold out. The Youth Days parade starts at noon with the crowning of Miss Rural Winnebago to follow. Kids games, a bounce house, pie and ice cream sale, burger/brats/hot dogs will be available. Family fun includes DJ Sonny’s Rockin’ Road Show with karaoke and contest giveaways!

    Join us on Sunday, June 9th at 1:00 P.M. for a Dungeon and Dragons gaming session at the library. Our Role-Playing Gaming Group meets on the second Sunday of each month at 1:00 P.M. The library will be open during special Sunday hours over the summer: June 9, July 14, and August 11 from 1:00-4:00 P.M.

    Ripon Public Library's Pain Management Series: The Knee

    A Ripon Public Library Event – Pain Management: The Knee – Wednesday, June 12 | 6 P.M.  

    Dr. Kaitlyn Smith, PT, DPT, LAT, will discuss what may be causing knee pain, how to manage it, and which symptoms would warrant examination by a health care provider. This informational session will also cover the pros and cons of a total knee replacement.

    Agnesian Know & Go Program: Walk with a Doc

    Starting June 11th, Agnesian’s Know & Go Walk with a Doc program will be held the first, second, and third Wednesday of each month from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm. It will also be held the first, third, and fourth Tuesday and Thursday of each month from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

    This program will be held on the Ripon Medical Center walking path at 845 Parkside Street in Ripon.

    How's Your Well Water?

    On June 12th from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Waushara County’s UW-Madison Extension office will offer information to homeowners re: their private drinking water wells – why it’s important to know if your drinking water is safe; what tests are available/costs; where you can get testing kits; how to obtain water samples from your faucet; what the test results mean that will be mailed back to you from UW-SP lab, and possible actions you could consider based on the sample results.

    Patrick Nehring/Waushara Co. UW-Madison Ext. Agent/Professor and Kevin Masarik/UW-SP Groundwater Education Specialist will discuss these topics and answer questions.

    Citizens can obtain testing kits and informational handouts at the event. RSVP – “UW-Ext. office” at courthouse (920) 787-0416, to ensure there are kits and handouts for everyone.

    A Charity Brat Fry & Canned Goods Collection will be held on Thursday, June 13th from 11:00 am  to 3:00 pm, or later, at Webster’s Marketplace. All proceeds and canned goods from the event will be used to benefit the community food pantry.

    There will be a brat fry held at Crossroads Market from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm (or until out) on Friday, June 14th and Friday, June 28th. The funds raised from these brat frys will be used to benefit the child care center playgrounds that are retaining wall damage as a result of last fall’s heavy rains. See below for menu pricing.

    Ripon’s Public Library’s Teen NERF Blasters Battle – Friday, June 14 | 6 P.M.   

    Celebrate summer’s arrival with this after-hours, team-oriented adventure! NERF dart-style ammo, flashing glow necklaces, and snacks provided. B.Y.O.B. (bring your own unmodified blaster) if you have one! “Elite” dart-style NERF guns only please. A small number of NERF blasters will be available to borrow during the event. Please arrive early to sign waivers with a guardian—doors are locked at 6 P.M.  Waivers will be available beginning Monday, June 10. Parent or guardian must be present to sign. Waivers will not be handed out to underage participants.
