    Brown Bags and Books Club

    11:30 -12:30
    May 21, 2019

This new book club, presented by Vision 2020, is aimed at raising awareness about the economic challenges facing our community and our country. Bring a lunch to the Wautoma Public Library on Tuesday, May 21st from 11:30-12:30pm to join the discussion. May’s book will be ‘Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City’ by Matthew Desmond. ‘Evicted’ takes readers into the poorest neighborhoods of Milwaukee to tell the story of eight families whose fates remain in the hands of two landlords. Today most poor renting families are spending more than half of their income on housing, and eviction has become an ordinary occurrence in America. Its unforgettable scenes of hope and loss remind us of the centrality of home, without which nothing else is possible. Copies of this month’s book will be available for check out at the Wautoma Public Library. If you are unable to attend the meeting but would still like to discuss the book, join in on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/313550852571961/.

POSTPONED - WACC Freedom Fest Brat Fry

    10:00 -14:00
    May 24, 2019

The following event will be postponed.

Freedom Fest is Waushara County’s celebration of Independence Day sponsored by the Waushara Area Chamber of Commerce. The festival will be held on Saturday, July 6th with the parade beforehand at 5:00pm. The event will then continue on at the Waushara County Fairgrounds with food, entertainment and kids activities followed by one of the area’s finest displays of fireworks sponsored by various businesses and organizations. Each year the cost of the fireworks increases and raising the funds gets harder. To help offset some of these expenses, the WACC Board Members will be holding a Brat Fry at Copps in Wautoma from 10am-2pm on Friday, May 24th. We’ll be serving up brats, burgers, and hot dogs. Come buy your lunch from us and help support Freedom Fest 2019 in the process, we hope to see you all there!
