21 | 22 - Blue Ribbon Kids Day Seeks Exhibitors
All day January 22, 2018 Planning is underway for Blue Ribbon Kid’s Day, a family fun and resource fair held in Waushara County each April during Child Abuse Prevention month. Blue Ribbon Kid’s Day will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm at Parkside School in Wautoma. Blue Ribbon Kid’s Day attracts nearly 1000 parents, grandparents and children who learn and practice safety skills, discover area resources and enjoy a morning of free family focused fun. It is the largest free family event offered in Waushara County. Blue Ribbon Kid’s Day is a past Beyond the Blue Ribbon Award recipient, and has been recognized by the Children’s Trust Fund, Child Abuse Prevention Fund and Prevent Child Abuse Wisconsin. Organizations interested in providing an exhibit regarding parenting, safety, and other services that promote healthy families or offer a family activity are encouraged to apply. Discover the splendors of Green Lake in the winter with a moonlight walk with the Green Team. Candles illuminate the path as participants make their way across the ice to Green Lake’s beautiful conservancy property, Sugar Island. Following a short hike, participants can warm up and chat with friends and neighbors in front of a roaring bonfire. GEAR TO BRING: Bring a cup or thermos for hot chocolate, a stick for roasting marshmallows, (hot chocolate and s’mores gear will be provided by the Green Team), and a flashlight for hiking. Snowshoes and also sleds for pulling children are also welcome. PARKING: Parking will be at Sunset County Park along CTH A in Green Lake, located next to the Green Lake Sailing School. From there, cross CTH A onto the frozen Silver Creek Inlet and follow the candlelit luminaries. NOTES: THIS EVENT IS WEATHER DEPENDENT.
