  • Virtual Job Fair Comes to Our Region
    09:00 -11:00
    May 6, 2021

Fox Valley Workforce Development Board, Inc.

First of Its Kind Virtual Job Fair Comes to Our Region

May 6; Now Seeking Free Employer Registrations
Regional workforce partners have announced the opening of employer registrations for the
first-ever virtual job fair in the Fox Valley Workforce Development Area.

The event will be held completely online from 9-11 am, Thursday, May 6, 2021. Registration is absolutely free at
    https://tinyurl.com/3kr7fb5r .
This virtual spring hiring event will be conducted through the Premier Virtual platform, a
leading provider of online job fairs and conferences. Employers can create their very own booth
space to include logos, videos and links to recruiting materials. The day of the virtual fair, each
employer will have the opportunity to interact with (hopefully) hundreds of job seekers, review
resumes and even conduct an interview. Besides the safety and convenience of a virtual job fair,
the platform allows the disabled, such as amputees or veterans with service disabilities, to
participate with equanimity in the workforce system.
“The COVID-19 pandemic means that more people than ever are seeking work, but the
continued risks of face-to-face contact makes an in-person job fair unfeasible at this point,” said
    2
Anthony Snyder, CEO of the Fox Valley Workforce Development Board (FVWDB), one of the
event sponsors. “Plus, as more and more vaccines get into the arms of our local residents, the
economy is ready for a big rebound and employers remain challenged in finding all the labor
    they need.”
Other partners involved in the planning of the event include Wisconsin Department of
Workforce Development, Fox Valley Technical College and Moraine Park Technical College
Although official the Fox Valley Workforce Development Area includes the six counties of
Calumet, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Waupaca, Waushara and Winnebago, the virtual nature of
the fair means the scope of the employers and the job seekers will be from across the NEW
    North Region.
For more information on the May 6 virtual job fair please contact us through
    foxvalleyjobcenters.com or call 920-997-3272.
    ###

a world-class workforce in northeast Wisconsin. Serving six counties — Calumet, Green
Lake, Fond du Lac, Waupaca, Waushara and Winnebago — FVWDB collaborates with a
number of state and local agencies to help job seekers gain the skills needed to find
employment, and to help businesses find the highly skilled workers they need.
FVWDB is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Service Provider.

    May 15, 2021

The Sinatra Experience with Dave Halston

    Event Location: The Grand Oshkosh

    Event Date:         05/15/2021

    Start & End Time:             7:30 PM – 9:00 PM

Event Details:     Returning to Oshkosh from Las Vegas – “The Sinatra Experience” – a brilliant tribute starring Dave Halston. Join us for an evening of music, fun and a zesty lineup of Frank Sinatra’s most popular songs. This show is remarkably authentic. Performing with the original music arrangements, Halston brings the Sinatra sound and swagger to the stage with a swanky Vegas vibe.

Critics have raved about Halston’s tribute to the iconic Sinatra, calling it “stunning”, “spot-on” and “a brilliant interpretation”. After seeing Dave perform, Frank’s widow, Barbara Sinatra, called his performance “Wonderful!”. Like Sinatra, Dave’s natural charm is captivating. He displays a commanding stage presence while effortlessly delivering that smooth ribbon of sound. Halston does what few performers can do – a tribute to “Frank” that entertains and satisfies start to finish!

  • Wautoma School’s Making a Musical
    13:00 -15:00
    May 22, 2021

Are you bummed Wautoma High School didn’t have a Musical this year? Well, you certainly aren’t alone, members of the Wautoma Honors Choir & AP Theory class felt the same and decided to write a musical of their own titled “Making a Musical” focused on the experiences of the students during Covid.
It begins with the students being suddenly sent home last year all the way to the decision to make their own musical during the beginning of this school year.
Lyrics, storyline, as well as music, is almost entirely written by Mr. Barker, Jaina Koerner, Dylan Lederhaus, Veronica Hernandez, Gregg Hammel, Nina Skweres, Sophie Mager, and Falyn Krempp with Falyn also leading audio production and artwork creation!
On the poster, you will find QR Codes to the district YouTube page where the show will be live-streamed on May 21 at 7pm, and May 22nd at 1pm (completely free of charge!) along with a teaser podcast about the original idea and beginning stages of the project written and produced by Jaina Koerner for an English assignment!
I hope you check out the podcast and tune in to watch one of Wautoma Choral program’s most creative projects to date!
