    Operation Backpack is underway!

    The Boys & Girls Club of the Tri-County Area, in partnership with Green Lake County, presents 2019-2020 Operation Backpack. This campaign is “used to provide students in need with a backpack filled with back-to-school supplies.” If you would like to help a student in need and would like to contribute to this campaign, you can mail a check and make it payable to:

    The Green Lake County Fair will be held August 1st – August 4th at the Fairgrounds, located at 570 South Street in Green Lake. The hours for the Fair are 8:00 am to 11:00 pm each day, and admission is FREE.     St. Paul Catholic Church’s Parish Festival

    St. Paul Catholic Church is busy planning their annual Parish Festival for Saturday, August 3rd and Sunday, August 4th. Festivities will kickoff on Saturday at 5:00 pm with a mass, followed by Totally Neon (80’s Band) and dinner. Sunday will begin with a polka mass at 10am with a chicken dinner, basketball tournament, more music and food, bingo, and raffles after.     Green Lake County National Night Out

    The Green Lake County National Night Out will be held on Tuesday, August 6th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Deacon Mills Park in Green Lake. The National Night out is described as a “national effort between local communities to help promote community unity and a partnership in fighting crime together.”

    This is a free event with fun for the whole family! There will be fire trucks, a bouncy house, a drone demo, a dunk tank, face painting, ambulances, squad cars, Sheriff Department K-9s, SWAT/CTU vehicles, DJ music, and games for kids! Food, soda, and water will also be served from 5:00 pm until gone.

The Market is described as “homegrown, handmade and organic,” as it “offers a festive atmosphere with the best in fresh-from-the-farm produce, meats and one-of-a-kind, handmade items from area artisans.” The Market at Town Square is held on Fridays from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm at the Green Lake Town Square Community Center, located at 492 Hill Street in Green Lake.

    The Princeton Flea Market, Central Wisconsin’s Largest Morning Outdoor Weekly Flea Market, will be held at 6:00 am every Saturday from April 20th through October 5th. The Flea Market is located at Princeton City Park at Highway 23/73.

    Cut-A-Thon to Benefit Melissa Ware

    Melissa Ware, the Technology Director for the Wautoma Area School District, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer in March of 2018. She was given approximately two years to live, as her cancer is incurable. Since the diagnosis, she and her husband, Tim, have travelled to Madison every other week for treatments, all while she continues to work for the Wautoma Area School District.

    Nuance Hair Design in Redgranite will be holding a Cut-A-Thon to benefit Melissa and her family on Saturday, August 10th from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Cost will be $10 per hair cut. They will be basic hair cuts with no shampoo or extra style. The event is first come, first serve.

    Nuance Hair Design is located at 126B E. Bannerman Ave. in Redgranite.

    Join a celebration as Wounded Warriors United of Wisconsin along with volunteer fishermen from all over Wisconsin take 80 veterans out fishing with a public afternoon to recognize the vets, enjoy a huge raffle and silent auction. Win a boat! This event will take place on August 10th from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm at Skipper Buds, located at 1351 Egg Harbor Ln in Oshkosh.
