Participants will gain knowledge about the latest screening recommendations and how to advocate for care. This series will explore the diets and lifestyles of those living in the Blue Zones – areas of the world where people are the healthiest and live the longest. People in these cultures often live to be 100 years and they remain healthy! Choose from Dixie Red Peach, Bartlett Pear, McIntosh Apple, Purple Lilac, Villosa Lilac, Hybrid Poplar, Sugar Maple, River Birch, or Colorado Blue Spruce trees. Trees will be $6 each except fruit trees which are $15 each. Order must be submitted by Saturday, February 2nd with full payment. This class is suited for all ages and abilities. “Gentle Yoga” is scheduled for Mondays, January 8 to 29 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the RMC Wellness Center, 845 Parkside Street, Ripon. Individuals should bring a yoga mat to each class. Preregistration is required. Coloma is hosting its 11th annual Chili Cook-off Souped-Up on Saturday, January 27th at the Anna Follett Community Center. There are various soups to taste ($5) and if you are still hungry, there are three different soups (unlimited) to enjoy for $2 extra. This is a fundraiser for the Coloma Area Historical Society (CAHS) with the soup tasting, children’s games, and raffles. Festivities begin at 4:30 pm, voting (with quarters) ends at 6 pm and winners are announced about 6:15 pm. Join us for a Family Fun Day. Hosted by the ASCS Parent Network. The Nutman is coming to Ripon Medical Center January 31 The Ripon Medical Center Auxiliary is hosting a candy and nut sale by The Nutman Company on Wednesday, January 31. This event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Ripon Medical Center Atrium by the gift shop. The Nutman Company features 150 fine quality nuts, chocolates, snack mixes and candies. Proceeds benefit Ripon Medical Center scholarships, as well as healthy and wellness programs and services. Visa and MasterCard are welcome, as well as cash and checks.
