BLUES LEGEND TINSLEY ELLIS AT THRASHER OPERA HOUSEGreen Lake, Wis. (March 17, 2025) – Blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter Tinsley Ellis, will perform music from his first-ever solo acoustic album, Naked Truth on Saturday, April 25th at 7:30 p.m. at Thrasher Opera House in Green Lake, Wisconsin. Born in Atlanta in 1957 and raised in southern Florida, developed a passion for music early, picking up his first guitar at age seven after seeing The Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show. Influenced by British Invasion bands like The Yardbirds and Cream, as well as Southern rockers like The Allman Brothers, he discovered the blues through their music. A pivotal moment came in 1972 when he saw B.B. King live from the front row and received a broken guitar string from the legend himself—a keepsake he still treasures. By his late teens, Ellis was an accomplished guitarist and moved to Atlanta, where he joined the Alley Cats before co-founding The Heartfixers in 1981. With the band becoming Atlanta’s premier blues act and releasing four albums, Ellis soon set out on a solo career.
This show is sponsored by the Victor F. Braun Foundation, and Mike & Aileen Ellis. This event is supported in part by grants from the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation, the Green Bay Packers Foundation, and the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts.
