    Outdoor Location To Be Determined

    Join self-taught survivalist, Woodsy Dude, as he teaches youth how to build a primitive survival shelter, how to signal for rescue, and how to catch food! Join in person or via Zoom. This week Karl Stewart will present pictures and stories about his travels in Morocco. Bring your own snack or lunch if you wish. Cookies & beverages

    served. Mark your calendars for next week’s adventure to the Dominican Republic with Mandy Kimes. Series suited to ages 10 years and up. A Zoom link is available on the library website and Facebook page.

    MONDAY, JUNE 10 at 5-8 PM | D&D AND MORE: Join us for an evening of Dungeons and Dragons and other roleplaying games in which you immerse yourself in a world and character while problem-solving and collaborating with others! Beginners welcome. Recurs on the second Monday of July and August. Games are suitable for ages 11 years and up.

    TUESDAY, JUNE 11 at 6-8 PM | TEEN PIZZA & TRIVIA NIGHT

    It’s an evening of tantalizing trivia, plenty of pizza, and fantastic fun! Bring a friend, join a trivia team of up to 5 people, eat, compete, and vie for prizes. This event is for ages 11-17 years and registration is required so we are sure to have plenty of pizza and drinks for everyone. Register by calling 920-748-6160 or visiting the friendly front desk staff at the library. July and August teen events feature Chocolate Tasting and Glow-in-the Dark Painting. Register for one or all three at once!

    WEDNESDAY, JUNE 12 at 4-6 PM | SUNCATCHER CRAFT & YOGA: Enjoy a lovely and accessible suncatcher craft and sun-themed yoga and movement with Ripon Parks and Recreation. Fifteen-minute yoga sessions are offered at 4:15, 4:45, 5:15 and 5:45 PM. A healthy snack will be served. This event is for all ages. Yoga mats provided or bring your own.

    THURSDAY, JUNE 13 at 10 AM | FAMILY FUN: Down on the Farm: Children and caregivers enjoy stories, music, and exciting hands-on activities! Designed for kids 3-8 years old but FUN for all ages! Bring the grandparents, older siblings, and friends for an adventure everyone will enjoy. June 13 features farm-themed stories and songs plus a very special visit with Great and Small Farm’s baby goats!

    Family Fun recurs on Thursday mornings through July 25, minus July 4. Each week offers a new and exciting theme with June 20th focusing on the Power of Pollinators with Ripon College partners.

    FRIDAY, JUNE 14 at 1 PM | V3NTO BRASS TRIO: The dynamic V3NTO Brass Trio is on a mission to revolutionize brass trio music! They unearth hidden gems, craft fresh compositions, & ignite excitement through educational programs. Winners of the 2012 Chicago Brass Festival Ensemble Competition, their debut album S.O.S. in 2015 captivated audiences, showcasing their boundless energy and creativity.

    Q&A + Cookies following the performance! This family-friendly concert is sponsored by the Green Lake Festival of Music and suitable for all ages.

     

    SATURDAY, JUNE 15 at 9 AM—NOON | ANNUAL CHILDREN’S FAIR at RIPON HIGH SCHOOL, 850 TIGER DRIVE: Sponsored by Ripon Noon Kiwanis, this free annual event focuses on connecting kids and families to community resources while serving up tons of fun! In recognition of 100 years of service, this year’s event will be better than ever. Ripon Noon Kiwanis provides goody bags to the first 200 kids (8 years and younger) to arrive, plus entry into drawings for valuable door prizes to all! Community partners and financial supporters include the Webster Foundation, Ripon Public Library, and the City of Ripon.

    2024 features entertainment by the world-travelled comedic juggling duo, Miller and Mike, community vehicle tours with Ripon’s police, fire and emergency departments, Midwest Photo Party booth, mini golf, bouncy castle, a Community Art Show and interactive information stations! Enjoy visiting with professionals offering services to kids and families. From doctors to daycares, to preschools and assorted family services, have fun learning about all our area has to offer. Stations offer fun activities for the kiddos too!

    Event Details:From May to September, please join the Marathon County Historical Society, on the second Thursday of each month at 11:00 am for Storytime in the Garden. Returning to the stunning Yawkey House garden we’ll enjoy a couple storybooks in the pergola followed by a children’s craft in the Carriage House. 

    Across the street at the Woodson History Center we have our regular exhibits and children’s room. We’re making history fun for your little ones at Storytime in the Garden.

    Open auditions for Summer musical production of “The Wizard of Oz”

    The Ripon Area Community Theatre (RACT) is excited to announce they will be holding open auditions for their summer musical production of, “The Wizard of Oz,” June 14th-17th at the First Congregational Church, 220 Ransom St., in Ripon. Auditions are open to ages 8-Adult. Performances are August 16th-18th at the Ripon High School.

    “This is a great, classic musical,” said director Brian Reilly. “There are roles for kids for kids, but there are especially roles for adults, both lead parts and chorus roles; there are speaking parts, non-speaking parts, non-singing parts. This will be an opportunity for the entire family and the community at large.”

    Children’s Auditions are Fri. June 14th from 4:30-7:30 pm, and Sat. June 15th 2-5 pm. Adult Auditions are Sun. June 16th & Mon. June 17th 6-9 pm; with rehearsals starting the last week of June. Rehearsals will, on average, take place weekday evenings, with some weekends, but not all actors will need to attend every rehearsal to start. Primary roles include: Dorothy Gale, Aunt Em/Glinda, Uncle Henry, Mrs. Gulch/Wicked Witch, Scarecrow, Tinman, Lion, and many chorus roles for various ages. Auditioners should prepare up to two minutes of a vocal audition, choosing a song suitable to their voice and appropriate for general audiences. The song may be from the show or in a similar style.

    ENTERTAINMENT 9AM-NOON

    The comedic juggling duo Miller & Mike offers a 10 AM show and strolling entertainment from 9-10 AM and again from 11 AM-NOON. Miller & Mike have worked around the world entertaining audiences for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, MTV, The Today Show, the Travel Channel, and others. Remarkable circus skills, boundless energy, and good, clean fun will make their show a favorite family memory!

    ACTIVE FUN!

    The Children’s Fair offers an abundance of activities for many ages and stages! Drop in to enjoy mini golf, a bouncy house, a Romper Room play area, yard games, Midwest Photo Party’s photo booth, City of Ripon community vehicle tours (fire truck, squad car, ambulance), and MORE!

    INFORMATION STATIONS + KID-FRIENDLY ACTIVITIES

    Enjoy visiting with a host of professionals offering services to kids and families. From doctors to daycares, to preschools and assorted family services, have fun learning about all our area has to offer. Stations offer fun activities for the kiddos too!

    COMMUNITY ART SHOW

    The 2024 fair includes a Community Art Show in partnership with Ripon College Circle K! Age divisions include K-2nd grade, 3-5th grade, Middle/ High School, and College/Adult. Artistic categories include drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, pottery, and fiber. Enjoy this opportunity to take in the creative gifts of area residents.

    In addition, annual coloring contest entries, for K-5th grade, will be displayed among the art. Visit the Centennial tab on the Ripon Noon Kiwanis website to find printable coloring entries, or get them at the Ripon Public Library! Entries may be dropped off at the public library or mailed to PO BOX 504 Ripon.

    Registration is not required to attend, nor is residence in Ripon. Come one, come all!
