    Eats for the Arts to Happen April 07-13 Throughout Green Lake Area

    Green Lake, Wis. (March 18, 2024) – Eats for the Arts Restaurant Days, an initiative from the Thrasher Opera House, will kick off on Sunday, April 07, and continue through Saturday, April 13.  The event will feature participating restaurants around the Green Lake area, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the Thrasher Opera House, so every bite you take helps to enrich our local arts scene!  Eats for the Arts: Restaurant Days aims to celebrate the culinary excellence in Green Lake, WI, and surrounding areas!  Thrasher Opera House Director of Development Katie Menting said, “Eats for the Arts offers diners the chance to enjoy exceptional service and ambiance. Whether you’re planning a romantic evening, a gathering with friends, or a business dinner, our participating restaurants provide the perfect setting for any occasion.  We are incredibly thankful for the generosity of the restaurants and their guests.”

    Participating establishments in Green Lake, Ripon, Princeton, Berlin, and Montello include:

    Mystery Mondays Book Club:

    Meets the last Monday of the month at 2 pm

    Stitching Together Group:

    Knitting/crocheting/needlework group that meets the last Tuesday of the month at 2 pm

    Better Poetry Better Life Workshop

    Thursday, April 11 at 6 pm

    Join local poets William Gillard and Thomas Cannon in celebrating National Poetry Month at the Berlin Public Library with an interactive poetry workshop! Attendees will enjoy creating poetry toolboxes filled with rhythm, meter, rhyme, tone, line breaks, fixed forms, and various other helpful tools to enhance our writing. Participants will have the opportunity to write poems, share them with the group, and engage in discussions on refining our poems to maximize their impact. Open to all, no registration required.

    Join 4-H Program Educator Brandon Springer to learn how to help your local butterflies flourish. Make Milkweed Seed Bombs, read a Monarch Story, and make Monarch Squish Paintings. For grades K-2nd. *Registration is required. Call the library or email brandon.springer@wisc.edu to sign up!*

    Plant Swap

    May 6 – 11

    Add some variety to your garden or home this spring. Bring in a houseplant or dig up and separate part of a plant from your garden and bring it (potted or in a plastic bag) to the library to exchange it for something different. Please label your plant. One exchange per plant– Bring a plant, take a plant.
