    Artist Reception Featuring MWVAC January 06, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

    Green Lake, Wis. (December 22, 2023) – Green Lake’s historic Thrasher Opera House will host an art exhibit from January 03, 2024 – to March 03, 2024. This exhibit can be viewed M-F 10-4; for after-hour visits, call 920.294.4279 to schedule a time.

     

    Please join the Mid-Wisconsin Visual Arts Connection for a reception on Saturday, January 06, from 5-6:30 pm.  This event is open to the public. 

     

    MWVAC is a collective of regional artists designed to maintain a registry of local artists, foster communication among artists in the area, and facilitate exhibition and educational opportunities.MWVAC had a booth at the Green Lake Art Show, where it received the Best of Show Award.  The organization is just coming off an exhibit at the Dick Folse Pop-Up Gallery in Ripon, where many of the members showed their works.  All new works will be shown at the Thrasher, and various media will be represented, from paintings and photography to ceramic pieces and textiles.

    MWVAC is represented on social media sites such as Instagram and Facebook, and their website is MWVAC.org.

    The reception is free and open to the public; a cash bar will be available.  Green Lake’s historic Thrasher Opera House will host the exhibit through March 04, 2024. This exhibit can be viewed M-F 10-4; for after-hour visits, call 920.294.4279 to schedule a time.

     

    Later that evening, Milwaukee blues musician Buffalo Nichols will perform in the Thrasher Opera House beginning at 7:30 pm.  Tickets are available at www.thrasheroperahouse.com or by calling 920.294.4279

    Milwaukee Blues Artist Buffalo Nichols to Play Thrasher Opera House

    Green Lake, Wis. (December 04, 2023) – Carl “Buffalo” Nichols will make his Thrasher debut on Saturday, January 06, 2024, at 7:30 p.m.  Buffalo Nichols brings unbridled musical creativity and soulful expression to each performance.

    Buffalo Nichols emerges as a dynamic and multifaceted musician, bringing a refreshing wave of creativity to the music landscape. With a style that defies easy categorization, Buffalo Nichols fearlessly navigates across genres, blending elements of folk, rock, blues, and more into a harmonious tapestry of sound. His music resonates with a soulful authenticity, reflecting his deep connection to his craft and the stories he shares through his songs. With a distinctive voice that exudes vulnerability and strength, Buffalo Nichols crafts melodies that linger long after the music stops.     Ripon, WI- Ripon Public Library is excited to announce its January lineup of events and offerings for all ages! Thanks to the Friends of the Library and other generous donors, programming is always free.

    WEDS JAN 10-FEB 7 | 10 AM | STORYTIME FOR KIDS & FAMILIES | NO REGISTRATION

    Welcome to active learning & fun, where early literacy & STEM concepts come to life through stories, music, movement, and enrichment activities. It’s a happy place for kids and caregivers to learn and play. After Storytime, Stay-and-Play in the Romper Room! This active space allows kids to release excess energy and advance their physical skills all while supporting social connections for kids and their adults. On Wednesdays when there is no story time, keep your weekly library habit with DIY Books + Romper Room! Come on in for a stack of books and enjoy social time in the Romper Room.

    DROP-IN BOREDOM BUSTERS

    · Come play in the Romper Room. Physical activity and human connections are important for healthy, happy human beings, and the Romper Room facilitates both! Focusing on active play, the room features trikes, foot-to-floor vehicles, a balance bike, tunnels, tumbling mats, balance beams, and more. The Romper Room, which is open during regular library hours, is most engaging for ages 2-6 years, though younger/older kids are welcome.

    · Enjoy the always-available board games, toy library, and activity sheets located in the youth department.

    · Visit the community table where there is always a puzzle in progress! Stay for a bit and place a few pieces or settle in for a longer session.
