    Indoor Ice Skating

    Monday, January 15

    Is it too cold to be outside but you still want to partake in all things winter? Come to the library and skate indoors with shaving cream instead of ice! Participants MUST sign up for a time slot, can only sign up in groups of up to 6, and MUST have at least one adult present. Ages 3+ are welcome. *Registration is required.*

     
    DIY STEAM Kit – Frost in a Can

    All January

    Make your own frost with only 3 things! An easy take-home STEAM kit for families with kids ages 6 and up. One per family, while supplies last.

    After School Craft:

    Fake Snow

    Tuesday, January 23 at 3:30 pm

    Make your own snow but play with it indoors! A perfect inside activity to take home for a cold winter day. For ages 6 and up. Registration is required.

    Stuffed Animal Sleepover

    & PJ Storytime

    Thursday, January 25 at 6 pm

    Bring your favorite stuffy to the library for a pajama Storytime then leave them there for an overnight sleepover! Your stuffed animal will play with other plushies, hang out, and take photos of their fun night. Pick them up the next day and hear about their adventures! Call the library or see Facebook for more details. For children 10 and under. No registration required.

    Winter Reading Challenge

    Leap Into Reading: Winter Reading Challenge

    January 15 – February 29

    We challenge patrons of all ages to read 1,000 minutes by Leap Day (Feb. 29). All readers who complete the challenge will be entered into a grand prize drawing and will have overdue fees forgiven on their library accounts. Prize winners will get to choose a $25 gift card from a list of local establishments.

    Participate on Beanstack or pick up a paper reading log at the library (available after January 8)!

    Jack and The Beanstalk Auditions on January 15 at Thrasher Opera House

     

    VERIFY SPONSORS BEFORE SENDING

     

    An audition for the Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) production of JACK AND THE BEANSTALK will be held on Monday, January 15, at Thrasher Opera House from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Those auditioning should arrive at 4 p.m. and plan to stay for two hours. Some cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the audition.

     

    Among the roles to be cast are Jack, Mother, Milky White, the Magic Harp, Farmers, Merchants, the Giant, Jill, Circus Performers, and Wonder Beans. Students in grades K-12 are encouraged to audition. No preparation is necessary. Assistant Directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential backstage responsibilities.

     

    The Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) touring productions are complete with costumes, scenery, props, and makeup. MCT Tour Actors/Directors will conduct rehearsals daily from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

     

    JACK AND THE BEANSTALK will be presented at Thrasher Opera House on January 20, 2024. The Missoula Children’s Theatre residency in Green Lake is brought to you by Thrasher Opera House Party for the Arts sponsors with support from Adams Rib, Taylor & Associates, Bayview Motel & Marina, Green Lake Rotary, and Bergstrom Automotive????
