    A Hygge Afternoon

    Monday, January 23 from 4-6 pm

    Join us for a hygge afternoon at the library. Gather around a virtual fireplace, sip a warm drink, and listen to soothing music as you participate in a relaxing activity of your choice. Coloring sheets, puzzles, games, and crafts will be available. Bring your knitting or a book to read. No registration necessary.

    Crafternoon – Mini Winter Hat Garland

    Thursday, January 26

    beginning at 2 pm

    Join us for a low-key, stress-relieving, and self-led afternoon of crafting. Make a mini winter hat garland out of yarn and cardboard tubes. No registration necessary. Craft available until Jan. 28 or while supplies last.

    8th Annual Quilt Show

    Coming March 2023

    Attention quilters! Our 8th Annual Quilt Show is coming in March. This year’s theme is “Take Flight,” but any and all quilts are welcome! Watch for more details coming soon!

    Digitization Service: Preserve Your Memories

    Do you have have old family videos, slides, or negatives you’d like to preserve in a digital format? The library will be offering a VHS to DVD (or USB drive) conversion service and a slide/film digitization service from February 1-14. Cost of the service is $0.25 per DVD and $2.50 per flash drive. Please call the library to inquire about this service in advance!

    A New Look Inside Our Libraries

    Our libraries are growing and refreshing to meet the changing needs of their communities. Check out these upcoming and recent renovation wins.

    Brandon Public Library was recently awarded $473,000 toward their expansion project, which currently houses the Brandon Historical Society and museum, and will make the building handicapped accessible. U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, announced that more than $255.7 million in congressionally directed spending for Wisconsin projects she supported has been included in the bipartisan Omnibus Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2023.

    Ripon Public Library is making strides toward renovations to the inside and outside of their location. Their “Thinking Outside the Books” capital campaign will create refreshed youth spaces, a teen area, and an interactive outdoor space to include a play space, performance stage, and stone steps to Silver Creek.

    Ethel Everhard Memorial Library completed interior renovations to their space in 2022, thanks to Village and Library trust funds. Stop in to visit their new space!

    Multiple libraries in the Winnefox Library System have digitized items related to local history. You can browse specific collections below, organized by library, or search across all (or selected) collections.

    Wisconsin library users love their digital library!
    Library cardholders have free ebooks and audiobooks at their fingertips thanks to Wisconsin Public Library Consortium. Read how Wisconsin library patrons checked out over 7 million titles in 2022.

    Thanks to additional funding from Winnefox Library System and member libraries, patrons using cards from Winnefox can take advantage of additional copies of popular titles. “Advantage” collections help you get your next book faster.

    The Power of Libraries

    Library staff from across Wisconsin gathered at the Wisconsin State Capitol on February 7 for Library Legislative Day. Staff met with State Senators and Representatives serving our communities to share the successes and impact our libraries have on citizen. They advocated for continued support from the state to allow us to grow in all that we do to meet the needs of every one of our residents.

    Accepting Applications for the Alfred T. Peck Grant

    The Green Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for the Alfred T. Peck Grant. The Alfred T. Peck Grant may be awarded to one or multiple applicants totaling $1,000.

    A longtime supporter of the Green Lake Chamber, Alfred T. Peck was a resident of Green Lake for many years and owned Alfred’s.  Peck understood the need to have a fund that will support increased tourism development in Green Lake.  Through his planned giving, he made the founding endowment to what is now the Alfred T. Peck Foundation.

    The grant aims to assist non-profit, tax-exempt, Green Lake Area Chamber of Commerce member organizations with charitable projects and programs that generate tourism to the Green Lake area.

    To be funded, project applications must be submitted by March 31, 2023.  The application must describe the project in detail, as well as show how the project will benefit the community, who will be served, and an estimated budget.  Applicable projects will occur between April 1, 2023, and December 31, 2023.  An ad-hoc committee of the Green Lake Area Chamber of Commerce will review applications.

    The grant application form may be obtained by emailing the Chamber at lisa@visitgreenlake.com, calling 920-294-3231, or visiting the Chamber office at 550 Mill Street, Green Lake, WI.  Applications are due no later than March 31, 2023.

    Event Details:Donkey basketball is less than 1 week away!! Get your tickets ( ) for ONLY $8 in advance and $10 at the door! The game starts at 7pm on March 1st. We will have concessions, 50/50 raffles, t-shirt sales, FREE Tigershark T-shirts tossed at half time, bake sale, and MORE! 5 and under is free and 12 and under can participate in FREE donkey rides at half time.
