    Welcome to active learning & fun, where early literacy & STEM concepts come to life through stories, music, movement, & enrichment activities. After Storytime, Stay-and-Play in the Romper Room! This active space allows kids to release excess energy & advance their physical skills all while supporting social connections for kids & their

    adults. On Wednesdays when there is no storytime Keep your weekly library habit with DIY Books + Romper Room! Come on in for a stack of books and enjoy social time in the Romper Room.

    Always wanted to delve into the iconic D&D role-playing game but found it daunting? Local Dungeon Masters guide players through one-shot adventures. Beginners welcome! No registration necessary.

     

    MON OCT 9 @ 6-7:30 PM | ADULT LEARNING SERIES: ELECTIONS IN A DEMOCRACY

    Second in our all-new Adult Learning Series! Ripon College Professor Emeritus Martin Farrell will present on elections in a democracy. Are the current elections a true reflection of what elections in a democracy are all about? Come join the discussion! Presentation followed by a Q&A session.

    On this school recess day, everyone is invited to drop-in and enjoy a paper pumpkin craft and Halloween-themed scratch masks.

     

    SUN OCT 15 @ 4-6 PM | TEEN PROGRAM | AGES 11-17 | NERF CHALLENGE

    How good is your aim? Show off your talent at the Nerf Battle @ Your Library!! Nerf blasters and darts provided. Waivers must be signed by parents and brought to the event on Sunday, October 15. Forms will be your ticket into the event.

     

    WED OCT 18 @ 6-8 PM |GAME NIGHT | AGES 16+

    Calling all strategists, team players, and those who like to test their luck—enjoy an evening of tabletop board games! Staff will be on hand to teach and guide players through a variety of entertaining and easy-to-learn games with no experience necessary.

    October features Betrayal at House on the Hill. Six friends wander in to explore a haunted house… but will any of them make it out alive? Mysterium and more spooky fun will also be available!

    Can’t make it this time around? This recurring event is held in the Silver Creek Room on the 3rd Wednesday of each month.

     

    THU OCT 19 @ 6-7:30 PM | CRAFT CLUB: Recycled CD Art | AGES 10 AND UP

    Leftover CDs and DVDs get repurposed into gorgeous sparkly mobiles or suncatchers. Youth require adult supervision.

    Sold on Monday by Kristina McMorris. Enjoy a lively & friendly discussion with other readers. Books will be available for check out after the Monday, September 25th meeting.

    Physical activity and human connections are important for healthy, happy human beings, and the Romper Room facilitates both! Focusing on active play, the room features trikes, foot-to-floor vehicles, a balance bike, tunnels, tumbling mats, balance beams, and more. The Romper Room is most engaging for ages 2-6 years, though older kids are welcome. The Romper Room is always open during regular library hours. Drop-ins are welcome.

We’ll be serving pancakes with all the toppings at the Ripon Noon Kiwanis pancake breakfast where proceeds help to fund the All-inclusive Playground improvements at Riggs County Park. You might find us camouflaged among the animals at the petting zoo or chumming with sidewalk artists. Stop to say, “hello,” and receive a prize!

    The library will host a one-day board game tournament for ages 10+. The event is inspired by the World Series of Board Gaming, held the week of September 24 in Las Vegas.     New Summer/Fall Season at Thrasher Opera House Released

    Green Lake, Wis. (May 19, 2023) – An extensive mix of entertainers will perform at Thrasher Opera House this summer and fall. With a blend of past performers and new artists to debut at Thrasher, we are excited to welcome our guests to Summer/Fall Season. Thrasher Opera House Executive Director Rachael Avery says, “We’re looking forward to a fresh, new season that represents a variety of genres, from blues, singer/songwriters, rock n’ roll, jazz, and everything in between.     October 20 | The Arcadian Wild | Doors and Bar 6:45 p.m. | Show 7:30 p.m. | Tickets $25 A folk music band from Maine, known for their modern interpretation of traditional Acadian and Celtic music. The band incorporates a variety of instruments such as guitar, fiddle, mandolin, and percussion to create their unique sound.

     

    October 27 | The Weight Band | Doors and Bar 6:45 p.m. | Show 7:30 p.m. | Tickets $38 A soulful sound that blends rock, blues, country, and folk influences, The Weight Band was formed in 2013 by former members of The Band. They perform original songs and covers of classic songs from The Band and other legendary artists.

Their music has been described as “a lively, inventive take on the old-school bluegrass tradition” and “a joyous, foot-stomping celebration of life.”

    Experience the British Invasion with The Brit Pack at Thrasher Opera House

    Green Lake, Wis. (September 25, 2023) – The Brit Pack – the most authentic British Invasion experience this side of the Atlantic, will perform at Thrasher Opera House in Green Lake, Wisconsin, on Saturday, October 14, at 7:30 p.m.  The Brit Pack has performed with artists such as Paul McCartney, Elton John, Britney Spears, and many others.

    Formed in 2011 by British session musicians based in NYC, The Brit Pack take their audience on a journey through a dynamic blend of British classics known and loved by all, including The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Queen, David Bowie, Elton John, The Who, Oasis, Radiohead, The Police, Amy Winehouse and many more.  The Brit Pack is a supergroup of sorts featuring the amazing talents of Matt Nakoa (vocals, guitar, keys), Mark Johnson (guitar, vocals), Bryan Percivall (bass), and Will Haywood Smith (drums). They have performed for company events at Google and YouTube and even arranged music for major television events like The Oscars.

    The Brit Pack’s performance is supported in part by a grant from the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation and the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin and the National Endowment for the Arts.
