Head Start Enrollment is Underway in Waushara County
CAP Services’ Head Start and Early Head Start programs in Wautoma are now accepting applications for the 2021-2022 program year.
Head Start and Early Head Start are quality prenatal, early childhood and family development programs for eligible families. The programs provide education, health, nutrition and social/emotional services for each child and offer support and family development services to all family members.
Families must meet eligibility guidelines and are asked to bring income verification to their application appointment. Families whose children have documented disabilities are also encouraged to apply. Parents are encouraged to call for an appointment as soon as possible as enrollment is limited.
CAP’s Head Start program provides services at the Wautoma Early Learning Center, 205 E. Main St., Wautoma.
Head Start offers both center-based and home-based options for children ages 3 to 4. For center base, classes are in session 7.25 hours per day, 4 days per week.
Early Head Start offers a home-based option for pregnant mothers and children ages 0 to 3. Four year old classroom options are in session for either 5 or 7.25 hours a day, 4 days per week. There is a center-based option for children who are 2 that operates year round for 7.5 hours per day, 4 days per week.
Applications are currently being accepted for children from the Wautoma, Redgranite, Wild Rose, Plainfield, Coloma, Handcock and Almond-Bancroft areas. Parents should call 920-787-7742, Monday through Friday, to schedule an appointment. For Spanish, call 715-498-6279.

Waushara Mobile Pantry Schedule for February

Organizers announce today that three sites will continue to provide no contact distribution
of food in Waushara County during the entire month of February 2021.

Residents interested in receiving FREE food are limited to visit one pantry site per week. This
food is available for ALL community members. No proof of identification, income, or other
information is required. When attending a drive-thru pantry, drivers remain in their vehicles
and volunteers place boxes of food in their trunk or back seat. Drivers are asked to make
space in their trunks to assist with this process.

Mobile sites have been serving Waushara County since last May. These pantries have been
provided by the Wisconsin’s Hunger Task Force and Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin in
partnership with Waushara County Food Pantry, the Waushara Prevention Council, Inc. and
the Waushara County Department of Human Services. Local agencies have been assisted by
an army of community volunteers along with businesses, community organizations and
municipalities who hosted and continue to host pantry sites.

For more information contact the Waushara Food Pantry at 715-869-3663. In the event of
inclement weather, cancellations will be announced on the Bug Radio 102.3 FM.

Mobile pantry schedules will also be posted on Waushara’s Vision Facebook page
    (https://www.facebook.com/Vision2020Waushara/).
