Bird Creek Park Story Walk

All day
August 19, 2020

Bird Creek Park Story Walk
Come to Bird Creek Park for the StoryWalk® along the trail across from the playground and
splash pad. We ask that you practice ‘social distancing’ and take turns with one family at
each book station. Ask questions about what is happening on each page, then move on to
the next station until you complete the story. The StoryWalk® is an exercise for both the
mind & body. It’s a unique, self-directed activity for people of all ages which encourages
participants to read a children’s book in stages while walking along the Bird Creek Park
outdoor park trail. The StoryWalk® is a community effort led by the Waushara’s Vision
Committee’s Financial Wellness Workgroup, with many partners involved. StoryWalks® were
created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, Vermont and were developed in collaboration with
the Vermont Bicycle and Pedestrian Coalition and the Kellogg Public Library.
