The line-up kicks off with Michigan-based Mustard’s Retreat on Saturday, September 14. This trio has been making music magic for forty plus years (either as the current trio or as a duo). Their songs, stories, and stage presence resonate with audiences everywhere.
October 12 brings The Society of Broken Souls to the Mountain View Community Center’s stage. This singer-songwriter duo—Dennis James and Lauryn Shapter—are known for consistent performances the critics have labeled “relaxed and deft, restrained and modest, but in the end always quietly epic.”
Society of Broken Souls, the Folk Noir songwriting duo of multi-instrumentalists Dennis James and Lauryn Shapter, never expected the name of their band to become such a lightning rod. It just seemed a fitting name, one that resonated deeply with each of them, as well as with their most dedicated fans. Dennis and Lauryn know a thing or two about broken souls. While their music is deeply rooted in the time-honored tradition of storytelling, their songs move seamlessly from the darkly fictitious to the profoundly personal — meaning they come by their name honestly. “Music is the only thing that makes any sense,” says James, “Nothing else matters.” In their return to music, they are discovering true artistic freedom and rekindled joy in pursuit of their craft. The concert will be held Saturday, October 12th at 7:00pm at the *Neshkoro Community Center* located at 114 E Park Street in Neshkoro. There will be a potluck before the concert at 6:00 PM.

National Ave., Fond du Lac, WI. General Admission is just $25.00, and there is no cost for Veterans or current service members. A fun twist on a popular central Wisconsin trivia contest will be held in Wautoma Saturday Oct. 26, 2019, to raise funds for CAP Services’ Domestic Abuse Outreach efforts in Waushara County. Trivia Unplugged runs from 5 to 9 p.m. at the World War II Memorial Building, 440 W. Main St., Wautoma. It challenges teams of up to 10 players to test their pop culture and media knowledge with questions about the Trivia of radio, television, music, sports, and other topics. Jim “The Oz” Oliva, who writes and organizes WWSP 90FM’s World’s Largest Trivia Contest at UW-Stevens Point, will write the questions and host the Wautoma event. Unlike the radio contest, teams are not able to use electronic devices to search for answers. The rules prohibit cellphones, computers, and communications devices. Books and outside paper are also not allowed. Teams are asked a total of 64 questions, 16 questions per hour over four hours of the event. Points are determined based on how many people answer correctly – the fewer the number of correct answers, the higher the points, and vice versa. The team with the highest point total at the end of the night takes home a trophy. There will also be an award for best team costume.
All proceeds from the event went to CAP Services Domestic Abuse Outreach Office in Waushara County. Funds help support CAP’s domestic abuse intervention services including domestic violence intervention, support groups, and community response. The Boys & Girls Club of the Tri-County Area presents “Trunk-Or-Treat.” This event will be held on Tuesday, October 29th from 4:00 pm until 5:30 pm in the Boys & Girls Club parking lot. All are welcome! Concessions for the event will be provided by Keystone Club.
In addition to “Trunk-Or-Treat,” there will also be a Sparks Club Community Center Open House. There will be tours at 4:00 pm, 4:30 pm, and 5:00 pm for families who want to learn more about Sparks Club.
