The Packers had a light workout on Monday following their 23-20 win at Detroit on Sunday. Coach Matt LaFleur says the team will have Tuesday and Wednesday off before returning to practice Thursday and Friday. He was also asked about Aaron Rodgers and if he has any concern about his quarterback’s accuracy. Rodgers was 27-55 Sunday against the Lions and missed on a number of throws to wide open receivers. LaFleur said it’s not all Rodgers fault. He said his receivers have to also step up and make plays when they have to.

The Packers have a bye this Sunday and will host either New Orleans, Philadelphia or Seattle in the divisional matchup on January 12th.

Giannis Antetokounmpo had 23 points and 10 rebounds after missing two games with a sore back, and the Milwaukee Bucks pulled away in the second half for a 123-102 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Monday night. Antetokounmpo, the NBA’s second-leading scorer with an average of 30.5 points per game entering this one, played only 27 minutes and sat out the final 5 1/2 because of the lopsided score. He was 8 for 14 from the field with six assists. Khris Middleton scored 25 points for the Bucks and Eric Bledsoe had 15 points in 16 minutes after missing the previous eight games with a fractured right leg. Milwaukee improved to a league-best 30-5.

Zach LaVine scored 19 points for Chicago but shot just 7 for 23 from the field. Lauri Markkanen and Coby White had 18 points apiece and Wendell Carter Jr. added 10 points and 11 rebounds for the Bulls.

Bucks guard Wesley Matthews sat out with a bruised right thigh. The Bucks host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night.

Bouncing back impressively in the second game of its challenging Wright State-Northern Kentucky road swing, Green Bay cruised to a convincing 73-59 win at NKU on Monday night at BB&T Arena, returning home for its next five games at the Resch Center. The Phoenix (1-1 HL, 6-9 overall) held the Norse (1-1 HL, 9-5 overall) to 5-for-26 from beyond the arc, including an 0-for-11 effort in the first half alone. Offensively, GB assisted on 17 of its 27 made field goals, finishing 27-for-57 (47.4 percent) from the field. Manny Patterson registered his third double-double in his last five games, scoring 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in 30 minutes of action. Patterson was 6-for-8 from the field and 3-for-4 at the charity stripe, earning another start. Fellow-junior PJ Pipes had the best game of his collegiate career, pouring in a career-high 20 points. Senior sharpshooter JayQuan McCloud narrowly missed a triple-double with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. The reigning HL player of the week went 4-for-4 at the free throw line, playing all but two minutes in the game. Green Bay will now return home for five-straight games at the Resch Center, sitting at 1-1 in HL play. GB will first host UIC/IUPUI this coming weekend, before welcoming Milwaukee and the Oakland/Detroit Mercy duo. The Phoenix and the Flames will play on Friday, Jan. 3 for a 7 p.m. tip-off with the game serving as the program’s annual Prevea Health BlackOut Cancer game.

Green Bay and Wright State took the floor in a battle between the two programs dubbed preseason favorites by the Horizon League on Monday night at the Kress Center in front of 1,431 fans who made the trip despite inclement weather. The Raiders emerged victorious in the pairing, using a strong second half to secure a 70-58 victory. Green Bay takes the hardwood on Saturday at home against in-state rival Milwaukee at 1 p.m.

In men’s college basketball tonight, Wisconsin hosts Rider in a 6:00 tipoff. Rider comes in at 7-3 while the Badgers are 7-5.

The Wisconsin Badgers (8) face the Oregon Ducks (6) in the 2020 Rose Bowl. The Jan. 1 game in Pasadena kicks off at 4 p.m. CT on ESPN. The game will be aired exclusively on ESPN.
