They won’t win any singing competitions, but cops in Green Lake County this week earned a spot on Santa’s “nice” list. Police officers from Green Lake, Berlin, Markesan, and Green Lake County Sheriff’s deputies and state troopers visited nursing homes throughout the county Tuesday to sing Christmas Carols to residents. Markesan Police Chief Will Pflum says Sheriff Mark Podoll came up with the idea. “He decided it would be a great idea for all of us to get together and kind of brighten the spirits of some of the residents at the local nursing homes.” They even had someone dressed as Santa and both of the Sheriff’s K9s also went along. Pflum says it was a great idea and one they hope will become a Christmas tradition in the county.
