More Than 24 Hundred Affected By Power Outage In Ripon

A squirrel was the culprit that caused a power outage that affected many in the City of Ripon Thursday morning. Alliant Energy spokeswoman Ann Marie Newman says the squirrel got into electrical equipment at the substation at Fenton and Grant Streets. About 2,485 customers were affected by the outage that started at 9:21 am and ended at 10:31 am. Among those affected by the outage were residences, three schools, Ripon College, City Hall, businesses and more.
