Ripon Public Library Makes Most Of The Space It Has

Officials with the Ripon Public Library are hoping they can use money from the sales of the Library Wonders calendars to build up funds to do the most with the space they have. Mandy Sprague is the Adult and Teen Services Librarian. She says they have some space in the fiction section between the children’s side and the one for teens and adults that could be used. “You know wouldn’t it kind of be a cool idea if we could kind of expand that space so there was kind of a gathering space between the children’s side and the adult’s side creating a connection rather than a division.” Sprague says they would like to attract more life-long learners and this may be one way of doing it. She says they do entertainment, but also have educational components and it is done through plays, a toy library, games that can be checked out, maker space items and the space in the middle could be more valuable if they make the most of it.

Congressman Grateful

As people gather for Thanksgiving to give thanks for their blessings Congressman Glenn Grothman says he’s grateful to be living in the U.S.A. in particular in the state of Wisconsin.  “Despite what you hear in the news and that sort of thing we are the envy of the world. Everybody is trying to get here we don’t have to fundamentally change America at all we just have to keep going  with the Constitution  we’ve had for over the last 200 years and so I’m grateful to be an American and in particular an American in Wisconsin which is the nicest state.” The federal lawmaker from Glenbeulah says whether you’ve spent time traveling around the country or around the world you realized how lucky we are to be in Wisconsin.

Picking Your Own Christmas Tree

With the Thanksgiving holiday weekend nearly upon us some will take the opportunity to pick up a real Christmas tree. Curt Kindschuh is the owner of the Old Baldy Christmas Tree Farm. It’s located in the Brownsville area. He says the next few weekends are their big weekends. He says if you’re going with a real tree this season you can’t go wrong with a Fraser Fir. “Definitely the Fraser Fir are a very, very popular tree. I personally like the Blue Spruce I like that nice natural blue-type color that the tree has got. Now we have four different types of trees. We got Fraser Firs, Blue Spruce, White Spruce and Balsam Firs. The Frasers are definitely the most popular.” He says the Fraser Firs have good needle retention and a good natural shape. His tree farm is a cut-your-own farm with over two miles of hiking trails. Kindschuh says they are all about giving people a good experience and their prices are fair. They are located at W6279 County Road F in Brownsville and the Old Baldy Christmas Tree Farm has a Facebook page.
