A 28-year-old Berlin man has been charged with fleeing an officer and resisting or obstructing an officer for a high-speed chase in Fond du Lac County Sunday morning. Joseph Walker led Sheriff’s deputies on the chase that culminated in the Village of Lomira after his vehicle’s tires were damaged by stop sticks on Highway 67. According to the criminal complaint the vehicle went over a bridge near the high school and down a hill where Walker got out of it and ran. Walker fell down the hill and hid underneath a tree where he was taken into custody after struggling with deputies. A taser had to be deployed on him. He allegedly told the deputies, “I just saw bright lights and panicked.” Walker was being pursued after a domestic incident in Green Lake County where he took a vehicle. Speed during the pursuit that started on I-41 near Lost Arrow Road in Fond du Lac County reached 115 miles an hour. Walker made his initial appearance in Fond du Lac County court on Tuesday. Bond was set at $1,000 cash. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday.
