Monday Matinees at the library!

Sunday, October 13 | 1 P.M. | Dungeons & Dragons Campaign (Ages 13+)

Newcomers and experienced gamers embrace the fusion of gaming and role playing in this fun, dynamic experience that meets on the second Sunday of the month at 1 P.M. For ages 13-adult. Younger participants welcome if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Tuesday, October 15 | 6 P.M. | Horror Games – Adult Game Night (Ages 16+)

Get your game face on and enjoy modern board games at the library! This month, we are featuring horror-themed games to get into the holiday spirit. Bring your favorites to share! Elder Sign will be our featured game. Dead of Winter, Mysterium, Ghost Stories, and Zombie Dice will also be available. Adult Game Night meets monthly on the third Tuesday of the month.

New to gaming or need something different to play? Be sure to check out the library’s new Modern Board Game collection. Patrons 13 and older can check out up to two games on their library card for up to two weeks. There is a diverse selection of award-winning games to enjoy!

Thursday, October 17 | 6 P.M. | Decoupage Planters – Pinterest Adult Crafting Hour (Ages 16+)

The library’s Fall session of Adult Crafting Hour is underway! Turn a dull terra cotta pot into a handsome desk planter with an easy decoupage technique. Call 748-6160 or stop by the Circulation Desk to reserve your spot for this event, as space is limited. 

Pinterest Adult Crafting Hour is a seasonal event with a Fall Series that runs September-November and a Spring Series that runs March-May on Thursdays at 6:00 P.M.:

Nov. 21 – Special Spa Edition: Bath Bombs (no registration necessary)

Friday, October 18 | 10:30 A.M. & 1:00 P.M. | Escape Room – Space! (Ages 11+)

Looking for something fun to do on your day off from school? Head over to the Ripon Public Library for a FREE Escape Room event. Team up with friends to follow the clues and solve the puzzles scattered about the space-themed room to escape before the clock runs out! Participants must register, with a limit of 8 persons per time slot—call 748-6160 or stop by the library. More times will become available if all time slots are filled. For students in grades 6-12.

Tuesday, October 22 | 6 P.M. | Books N’ Brew (Ages 16+)

Catch up with what other readers are enjoying over a cup of coffee on Tuesday, October 22 at 6 P.M. at Mugs Coffeehouse at this adults-only event! Unlike traditional book clubs, there are no assigned books. Instead, readers share their excitement over current and favorite must-read titles! Adult/Teen Services Librarian, Mandy Sprague, will be on hand to offer reader’s advisory to get you hooked on your next favorite book/podcast/movie!  Books N’ Brew meets the fourth Tuesday of every month. 

Wednesday, October 23 | 5:30 P.M. | One-shot RPG Adventures (Ages 13+)

Explore a new one-shot RPG adventure with pre-made characters on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 5:30 P.M. at the library! This month’s featured game system is Dread. Dread is a horror role-playing game that uses Jenga® instead of dice to determine the fate of its characters. Pull from the tower and achieve success. Refuse to pull and you fail, leaving your character’s fate in the hands of the narrator. Sign up early at the library’s front desk and fill out a character questionnaire to prepare for the main event. Limited spots available. Character questionnaires available beginning October 1.

Newcomers and experienced gamers are invited to join in on this creative gaming experience. Drop-ins are welcome!
