Two Waupun Men Federally Indicted For Bank Robberies

Two Waupun men have been federally indicted for three bank robberies in Wisconsin.  U.S. Attorney Matthew Krueger this week announced the indictments of 36-year-old Justin Smith and 35-year-old William Balgie for armed bank robberies in Waukesha, Washington, and Sheboygan Counties. A National Exchange Bank & Trust branch in Allenton was robbed April 8th, the Cornerstone Bank in Menominee Falls on June 17th and a National Exchange Bank & Trust branch in Glenbeulah on August 8th.  If convicted the two could get up to 25 years in prison for each bank robbery count. A number of agencies were involved in the robbery investigation including Sheriff’s Offices in Washington and Sheboygan County and police departments in Beaver Dam, Waupun, Menomonee Falls, and Slinger.
