Woman Injured In Waupun Home Dies

4 September 2019 News

(Gregory Spittel)

Waupun Police say a 75-year-old Mayville woman found in the basement of a Waupun home with severe head injuries has died. Police Chief Scott Louden says Carol Foreman died last Wednesday at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah. The Fond du Lac County Medical Examiner’s Office did an autopsy and results are still pending. Foreman’s 30-year-old grandson Gregory Spittel lives in the home on Brandon Street and was arrested on unrelated charges. According to the criminal complaint he was screaming and drunk when officers arrived after getting a medical call to the home on August 24th. Spittel threw a pillow and a whiskey bottle at a female officer, threatened officers, and yelled at them to shoot him. They had to use a taser to bring him under control. He has a preliminary hearing this Friday. No charges have been brought against him connected with his grandmother’s death. He’s being held in the Fond du Lac County Jail on a $21,000 cash bond.
