FDL Man Found Guilty Of Murdering Beaver Dam Man
16 August 2019 News
The 21-year-old Fond du Lac man suspected in the shooting death of a Beaver Dam man has pleaded guilty to a first degree intentional homicide charge. Nigel Schultz killed 36-year-old Bradlee Gerke last Halloween because he thought Gerke was going to turn him in to police. Gerke’s body was found in a shallow grave in a cow pasture in the Town of Lebanon. His body had been covered with gasoline and shot 16 times in the head and chest. Schultz’s conviction carries a mandatory life sentence, but a judge can set a release date after 20 years. Dodge County District Attorney Kurt Klomberg at the January 7th sentencing hearing will be asked that Schultz never be released from prison. Schultz entered his no contest plea during a hearing in Dodge County court Friday. Four other charges were read into the record and dismissed.
