Man Who Threatened Beaver Dam Police Officer Sentenced To Prison
A 34-year-old Beaver Dam man who spit on an officer and threatened to shoot an officer when he went off duty has been sentenced to four years in prison and seven years of extended supervision. Michael Nelson had just been arrested for assaulting his fiancée when he became belligerent and resistive with police. Dodge County District Attorney Kurt Klomberg says, “Threats like those made by the Defendant cause Police Officers concern for their safety and the safety of their families.” Nelson was sentenced Thursday on charges stemming from the incident in July of last year. During a jury trial in May a jury found him guilty of all eight charges brought against him.
