Funeral For Our Friend Bernie Phillips
26 July 2019 News
This weekend Hometown Broadcasting, friends and family will say farewell to Theodore Krawczyk better known to those who knew him as Bernie Phillips. Bernie spent 66 years in radio, the last 20 with Hometown Broadcasting and its stations. He rarely missed a day of work forgoing the usual weekend off and vacations to be at work. He worked for some of the oldest and most respected radio stations in Wisconsin including WTMJ, WTKM, KFIZ and of course our stations WAUH, WISS, and WRPN. He even spent some time at a station in New York. About three years ago the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association honored Bernie for his longevity in radio. It was a proud moment for him and those who knew him. Bernie was sharp as a tack and was always listening to the radio to make sure we were getting our signal out there to entertain and inform. We will miss his sense of humor and friendship. Visitation is at the Wiecki-Skichak Funeral Home in Berlin tomorrow from 10 am to 2 pm. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm also at the funeral home.
