Oshkosh Man Pleads Not Guilty To Delivering Fatal Punch

2 July 2019 News

The 35-year-old Kaukauna man suspected of delivering a fatal punch to an Oshkosh man was arraigned Monday. Christopher Barry was in Winnebago County court and pleaded not guilty to a 2nd degree reckless homicide charge. The charge stemmed from the October 12th death of 47-year-old Steven Mallas who he punched in the jaw over $18 taken in a bar. Mallas suffered a broken jaw and died from complications from that battery. The incident happened on a sidewalk outside the bar. Barry is being held in the County Jail on a $50,000 cash bond.
