Two Fond du Lac men have been charged for shooting up a home and a van in the city in April. Twenty-nine-year-old Mareo Marron Zavala and 18-year-old Guadalupe Mendez Berry made their initial appearances in Fond du Lac County Court Thursday on charges stemming from the April 26th shootings. According to the criminal complaint the house at 242 Morris Street was shot at 20 times with a handgun and later a van on 2nd Street was also shot. Police learned one of the occupants of the home had recently ended a relationship with Marron Zavala and the owner of the van owed him money. Mendez Berry admitted driving Marron Zavala to the area where the shootings occurred. He told investigators Marron Zavala shot the house and van. Witnesses reported seeing a silver-colored vehicle leaving the area. Mendez Berry owns a silver-colored Impala. A search of their residence turned up guns and ammunition consistent with the shootings. Marron Zavala is being held in the County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond and Mendez Berry on a $50,000 cash bond. Both have preliminary hearings on Friday, June 7th.
