Webster’s Marketplace in Ripon used their annual brat fry Thursday to celebrate their 32nd anniversary and give away a 2019 Chevy Cruze from Baird GM. Of the 168 finalists in the drawing for the car 153 showed for the brat fry. That number was reduced to 32 who were awarded gift certificates and eventually six who selected a package on top of the car, each containing a key fob but only one that would open the car doors. It came down to two contestants and the eventual winner Gail Brown who works as an accountant at Horicon Bank in Horicon. Gail can’t speak, so we spoke to her father Thomas Brown who says Gail had a feeling she might win. “Well she said when she got the phone and we told her she had to call for the drawing, she was going to win it and mother said no you will never come close.” Chris Baird of Baird GM says the giveaway created a lot of talk and brought people into the dealership to ask questions about the car. “I had a lot of people come in and ask about the car, so it was a lot of fun.” Webster’s Marketplace President Candie Baker says Gail is one of the store’s best customers.
