Important To Remember 9/11 Sacrifices

Waupun Fire Chief B.J. DeMaa says they aren’t bringing the 9/11 Never Forget Mobile Exhibit to Waupun just for Waupun residents in June. The exhibit will be open from 12 to 8 pm on Saturday, June 29th and Sunday, June 30th at Tanner Park as part of Celebrate Waupun. He says the exhibit is about remembering the sacrifices that were made that day. “You know the importance of making sure that as a generation that we are telling the story of that happened that day. The heroes that emerged both first responders and citizens.” The 9/11 exhibit allows folks to hear firsthand from FDNY firefighters of how events unfolded in front of them. The high-tech, 53-foot trailer transforms into an 1,100 square foot exhibit, providing people an opportunity to explore artifacts from the towers and listen to documentary videos and recordings of first responder radio transmissions. Donations are being sought to defray the costs of bringing the Memorial to Waupun. Donations can be made at the Fire Department or Waupun Festivals websites.
