Arya Cares Bike Ride

17 April 2019 News

An Oshkosh couple is turning a family tragedy into an effort to benefit school children in the area. Four-year-old Arya Vaughan was riding her bike near her home last May 3rd. She was wearing a bicycle helmet, but was struck by a vehicle and died later at a hospital. Her parents Amber and Aaron Vaughan have organized the Arya Cares Family Bike Ride at Menominee Park in Oshkosh on May 18th. Money raised from the event will be used to purchase playground equipment, pay for school field trips or activities. Aaron Vaughan says they were inspired by a dream he had about Arya. “It was a bike ride and she was leading the bike ride and enjoying herself and having a good time. The dream kept happening and it kept on popping into my daily thoughts.” Those who are interested in learning more can go to the Arya Cares or the Oshkosh Police Department Facebook pages.
