Ripon Snow Plowing Procedures Reviewed

27 March 2019 News

Ripon Public Works Director Mike Ehrenberg reviewed the city’s snow plowing procedures for the Common Council this week. He told the Council they are based on city ordinances, but hadn’t been put down on paper before. Ehrenberg said if they get three inches of snow they send out the plows otherwise they salt the roads. He pointed out it’s similar to what other communities do. Council members would like to see snow plowing of the downtown improved and Ehrenberg said they would work on that. He said they received lots of snow over a six week period and even rented trucks at times to help out. During a recent snow storm three trucks were rented working six to eight hour shifts. He also admitted they need to work on their communications about snow plowing with downtown business owners.
