FDL Woman’s Homicide Conviction Upheld

20 March 2019 News

A state appeals court has upheld the conviction of a 41-year-old Fond du Lac woman who killed her husband in the fall of 2013 and hid his corpse. Eve Nance shot her husband to death in a bathroom shower stall in their home and later took the body down to Milwaukee where with the help of her sister Tina Ewell she hid it in a wooded area off a dead end. Later she claimed that her husband Tim Nance had gone missing. In January of 2016 a Fond du Lac County jury found her guilty of first degree intentional homicide and of hiding a corpse. In May of 2016 she was sentenced to life in prison with a chance at parole after 20 years. In her petition for appeal Nance argued statements she made to police shouldn’t have been used at trial. The appeals court ruled police did not use coercive or improper conduct in obtaining Nance’s statements.
