Congressman Grothman On Nuclear Arms Talks With North Korea

Congressman Glenn Grothman says it’s not surprising President Trump’s talks about nuclear arms with North Korea’s leader didn’t go well this past week. He says Ronald Reagan years ago was able to strike a deal with Libya and Momar Gaddafi, which lasted until Gaddafi was killed in 2011 during President Barack Obama’s administration. He says some world powers saw that as a betrayal by the Obama administration and feel the U.S. went back on its word with the Libyan dictator. “Because any foreign leader is going to say how do we not know in the future we are going to have a Hillary Clinton in there who is going to tear up the old agreement and take advantage of the fact that I don’t have nuclear weapons.” Grothman feels any progress with North Korea will take some intervention with China.
