511 Website And App Can Be A Life Saver

Fond du Lac County Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt says the state’s 511 website and phone app can be a real life saver when it comes to fast changing winter weather conditions. He says it will give you the latest road conditions. “It does a great job because it is updated in real time of what the road conditions are if they are snow-covered or slippery or ice-covered or clear and then it also will update you on any incident along the way.” Waldschmidt says it will also send out alerts to your computer or phone. He says for instance last Sunday when two semis jackknifed on Interstate 41 that information went out from the 511 site.
