College Men’s Basketball

Shamorie Ponds scored 28 points, including a go-ahead layup with 16 seconds left, to give St. John’s a 70-69 victory over No. 10 Marquette on Tuesday night. The loss ended an eight-game winning streak for the Golden Eagles and was their first defeat at their new home this season after 14 victories. Sam Hauser scored 19 points and Howard 17 for Marquette (19-4, 8-2 Big East), which lost at St. John’s 89-69 on Jan. 1.

Tonight, Wisconsin is at Minnesota.

Milwaukee Bucks forward Khris Middleton has been selected to participate in the MTN DEW 3-Point Contest at the 2019 NBA All-Star Weekend in Charlotte. Middleton, who was also selected to the 2019 NBA All-Star Game as a reserve, will be making his second-career appearance in the 3-Point Contest after participating in the 2016 event. The 2019 MTN DEW 3-Point Contest, which is part of All-Star Saturday, will take place on Saturday, Feb. 16, at Spectrum Center in Charlotte, and will be televised live on TNT at 7 p.m. CT.

In the NBA tonight, Washington is at Miiwaukee.
